My experience in my second home

The management is very strict about discipline. It can be considered as a second school.

The curriculum is well organized in such a way that people from different streams of science can relate. It gives an insight into the various career divisions in the food industry. There is a research paper that has to be published by the end of the 2nd year based on which the degree is given. The examination is 2 semesters per year so a total of 4 semesters and presentation/viva for each subject. This course has helped me grow both personally and professionally.

Placement is provided by the College placement cell. Considering the batch of 20 in the course, a list of 8 companies had come for the placement. Each company would speak on its stand in the industry and would discuss the job offer. The students had to the decision whether they wish to apply or not. In case if the application was given, they were then called for an interview round. Confirming to which the second round was arranged with the hr at the company office. Salary and other things were discussed and a final round with the CEO to understand the work culture was done. If cleared, an offer letter was given. Internships are also provided by the College at the end of 1st year. The internship program was for a span of 2 months. Me, I have currently joined the same company that I had interned with (Future Group) I feel, the internships are a great exposure to the industry.

There intra college fest that is being organized. Various events are held every month and a grand fest is held once a year. The college students also participate in inter-college fests held in different colleges of Mumbai like Umang. Participation in Various competitions of Mumbai University is also done.

It isn't very expensive, 45000 per year on average. The mode of payment is online or via NEFT. The breakup of the fee structure is provided and it is well defined. Not additional for admission but a sum of 1000-1500 to be paid for the entrance exam form and entrance exam which is non-refundable.

Haven't applied for any scholarship program but it was made available for reserved class individuals.

It's a female-driven course and hence hard to find males opting for the course. The sports event is held annually as the campus isn't big enough. No biases on the basis of culture, religion, or sexual orientation were found. Social activity cell gives an opportunity for NSS activities to the students willing to do.

No, I reside in the same city so never opted for the hostel. However heard from a few friends that it is neat, clean and food is good however, the hostel was a little more expensive to than staying in PG.

Had very good terms with the seniors. They had helped me with various information on how to proceed with the research work.

Masters in Food Processing and Preservation course is only offered by this college which is affiliated with Mumbai University. It is a great opportunity for people belonging to science background and wishes to enter into the food industry. For admission, an offline form has to be bought, filled, and submitted within the due date. The entrance exam dates will be announced and on successful completion of the same, results are announced within a week. And it's done. Confirm your seat and pay the fees.

The college faculty is good, qualified, and experienced in the teaching and working industry. Guest lectures are being arranged at times by the people in the industry. The professor ensures that the subject is well understood by the students and prefers to extend help to individuals belonging to a slightly different course background. Each lecture was of minimum 60 mins to maximum of 120 mins.
