Likes

I liked how the professors interacted with the students.
The campus and canteen, all of the infrastructure is commendable
The curriculum was set up in an effective way

There weren’t many placement opportunities as such
Teachings could have been more practical instead of theoretical
Management was out of place at times like scheduling the lectures or exams

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is quite up to date and relevant considering the real world approaches as well as future academic studies. But the technologies used can be a bit more modern and in line with the current. Teaching methods could be improved too.

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 500000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Convocation fee- 1500, Development fee- 12830, Exam fee- 4400, Lab fee- 6000, Library fee- 2000, Other fee- 4000, Tuition fee- 97410. All of this is yearly. You can avail no benefits such as scholarship or any financial aid and it is the same for all the students despite their categories

Campus Life

The campus is huge and lush green and spread over a large area. Since there are so many buildings for different academic pursuits you can meet people from all kinds of academic disciplines. There are several student committees and events that take place all year round.

Admission

I had done my 11th and 12th from Somaiya as well and i was really fascinated by it hence i chose it over any other colleges. I just didn't apply to others. Plus the admission process is not hectic and can be done online simply through applying or registering for a course according to your eligibility

Faculty

Faculties are quite approachable in a broader sense, they do provide assistance. Exams usually happen twice every semester. One is right one month after the semester starts called CA and is of usually 25 marks with some internal assignments and then one is right before the end of the semester called ESE which is of 80 marks in theory and includes lab exams as well.

Night Life

I have never been in my college late at night or even evening so i wouldnt know but yes events take place in the evening and college is never really closed it is vibrant and happening at night as well. Also it is safer compared to other colleges

Well worth the journey!

Course Curriculum Overview:

Parricularly the modules which focused on animal science & botany, the curriculum was built to learn from basics to the advance level towards research area of biology which impressed me alot. The focus on animal biology, statistics, cell biology & genetics, ecology & wildlife conservation, Immunology & biotechnology leads a foundation to successfully enter the real-world and apply this knowledge for better cause of humans as well as animals. As the therotical teaching method can differ from on-hand experience on field there is a need to improve the course curriculum around this issue. The learning period was designed perfectly in-course of the prepaption time between each test and it wasn't difficult if we are well prepared.

In univeral college from sem 6 students become eligible for campus placements, Name of the companies offered in placement is TATA TCS, Infotech , and etc. Highest package from our college is 10 LPA and average is 3.2 lacs per annum. 20% percent of students successfully get placed in the companies from our placement team. After getting degree i will prefer to study more with MCA two years of course and side by side business & developing webs and applications as this is my passion and motive. i will prefer business Now i am interested in python programming language and JAVA after this React JS, Node JS and PL / SQL + MONGO DB for backend programming which has no user interactions.

The Campus Story : the lands of horror.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.

Soumya Vidyavidhyar is Superfluous!!
