I appeared for CLAT or Common Law Admission Test in 2014. I scored a score of 152.5 out of a total possible maximum marks 200. I achieved an All India Rank of 97 out of 35,000+ candidates. I chose CLAT because I had an inherent wish to pursue law as a career over everything else and CLAT was the natural choice.

NALSAR being a topmost National Law School offers a very high standard of evaluations and course structures. The course structure is devised by some of the brightest minds in legal education from India and abroad.

Students from NALSAR do experience a pretty amazing internship regime right from the end of their first semester. What's brilliant (much like the career opportunities in general) is the freedom and flexibility one has here. If I want to pursue litigation, I can do only say court internships, if corporate is my cup of tea I can pursue those internships.

I am pleased to say that in the legal world in India, it is undisputed fact that NALSAR has the highest placements in the corporate sector and otherwise even surpassing other contemporaries and rivals like NLSIU, NUJS,NLU-J, NLIU etc. The job opportunities in a top tier law school are too diverse and endless. From corporate to government to litigation to academia, the discretion is totally one's own.

For students whose economic and/or social conditions are such that he/she is able to show that the education at the institution is expensive for them, there is a provision for scholarships and fee concessions/waivers given by the college. Other scholarships which can be achieved on merit would be esteemed scholarships like the Aditya Birla Scholarship.

The exam structure and assessment criteria is usually a research assignment, mid semester examinations and finally an end semester examinations. It is certainly engrossing and requires effort but not that much you do not have time for extra-curriculars or a social life in general.

In the beginning of the year 2014, a notification for the exam CLAT was released. I did the necessary registration and formalities as envisaged and required online. The Test for CLAT is conducted on Second Sunday of May which I appeared after getting my admit card which is only issued after all earlier prerequisites are met.

The faculty at NALSAR is cutting edge. NALSAR has been on a hiring spree to hire both senior and fresh faculty straight from National Law University's themselves. With a mix of senior professors and young faculty, it provides for an ideal teaching environment. Sometimes a blend of flexibility and new tricks coupled with experience and time tested wisdom is all you need to ensure a wholesome educative experience.
