Remarks
I had applied to Amity University Kolkata for BSc(H) Biotechnology. The admission process was simple. Normally, you have to sit for an admission test and then an interview but you get a scholarship then you are eligible for direct admission. This is the only university I had applied for. I just filled the application form, and then I received the scholarship and the confirmation letter. After that, I paid the fees to reserve my seat. They also provide counselling to the students for clarity of the course I am pursuing.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of the university is very good and relevant. I chose this course because I had grown interested in this subject and wanted to dive deep into it. The faculty is pretty dependable. They do their very best to make the subjects easy to understand. They are very supportive and take continuous exams to keep us up to date. There is the odd semester and the even semester in a year. If the student follows the lectures properly, then you can pass the exams with flying colours.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are available in the third year at least for our department. The companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, visit every year for campus placements. My plan is to proceed with higher studies.
Placement Experience
The college offers decent placements. The average package is 4-5 lakhs per annum and the highest goes up to 12 lakhs per annum. Many companies visit the campus and students are chosen on the basis of interviews. Around 80% of students get placements and the others go for further studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
It costs around 1 lakh per year. But if you are among the top 10 students then you get a 100% scholarship, and the top 5 students get a 50% scholarship. Many students got placements and most of them go for higher studies. The University provides financial support to students who are financially weak.
Campus Life
The University organises an annual fest and tech fest every year for the students. Every department has its own library and there is a central library as well. There are laboratory, auditorium, seminar halls. Wifi and projectors are also available. The classrooms are neat and clean. University organizes sports and extracurricular activities every month for the overall development of its students.
