Remarks

Good remarks: We have a huge campus. Some very educated professors. Helpful faculty. Bad remarks: Isolated campus. Should get professors who can communicate properly in one of the National Languages.

Entrance Preview

I took JEE Main. Scored 180 / 360 and got a rank of 19076. I'd wanted to study Computer Science and this was one of the best colleges in Kolkata. There's Jadavpur University but it doesn't accept people based on their All-India ranks and there is IEM but Heritage had a good balance of academics and a college life.

Course Curriculum Overview

The WBUT Syllabus is not that good, but now since Heritage is a University, they changed the structure. The new syllabus is pretty good. The WBUT syllabus and theory exams are very theoretical and not logic based. Which makes it really hard for some people to score well.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides a 6 week training for the students at the end of the third year. Other than that, it arranges for placement in the 7th semester. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, SAP Labs, Polaris, etc. come for that.

Placement Experience

In the computer science stream, almost everyone is placed. This year, in the first slot, around 500 students (from all streams) were placed.

College Events

We have two fests, Dakshh - the tech fest and Eclecia - the cultural fest. Apart from that various festivals are celebrated in college, like Republic Day, Saraswati Puja, Holi, Independence Day, Navratri, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is okay when it comes to engineering colleges. Around Rs. 40, 000 per semester ( on an average ). Considering the campus, the lab equipment, the education provided, I feel it is quite a reasonable amount.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a tuition fee from people who have financial problems. Also, some banks provide student loans here.

Campus Life

Campus life is good. There are quite a few workshops organized every semester. Some on coding, robotics, hacking, etc. We have a sports week every year. Elections are held every year to choose a class representative.

Hostel Facilities

I'm a local resident and don't live in the hostel. But the hostels are pretty good. There is a flat system. The one I've visited had 7 people who had to share 4 rooms, 2bathrooms, one induction stove, one fridge. Each flat had their own water purifier and

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very friendly and open. Always willing to help. They don't show attitude and behave like they are above you. They're pretty much like friends.

Exam Structure

The first internals are in the middle of the semester. But towards the end of the semester, things get very hectic. Internals, followed by Practical Exams and then Theory exams.

Faculty

Some faculty of the college are excellent. Have a lot of knowledge are willing to help students with other work and subjects. Some on the other hand are not comfortable teaching in English or Hindi. They prefer their mother tongue (Bengali), which makes i

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The everyday journey

Likes

I liked the campus . Their people and faculties are too great , they are also helpfull
The other thing i liked here is the play ground where students play with full of their energy and many game events are organised ocationally
The other thing i liked is the library where everyone use to study silently with poking others

Bad benches , like benches are too small to be fitted in our class I

The faculty are well taught and the campus is very beautiful . The buildings are like newly bulid . and the campus is very clean.
In our branch the boys and girls ratio is almost 16:11.
The senior behave like a friend and they help us a lot and they also very supportive.

Dislikes

The college campus is too small compare to other colleges.
The college classes are not regularly held and the attendance system is not very good.
The classes are very boing and sometime it feels like aa school and the labs are not held timely.

Placement Experience:

our college average package is 600000 per Anum and highest package is 1800000 per Anum according to recent data. and 80% of student got placed . And wipro , windows, tcs , siemens , tata like companies come to our college for placement. Core students are also got placed but many of them goes for hihger studies.

My experience about techno

Likes

Ragging free campus. Strict action are taken against those who found guilty.
Classrooms are well equipped and are spacious.
There are many fun events that happen in the college

Dislikes

The campus area is too small. The library is not good
The societies are fully controlled by students so huge partiality goes on.
Some of the teachers are mean and are not good.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards , students become eligible for internships and stepping in 4th yr , students get eligible for campus placement. Techno provides decent campus placements according to your marks. Good marks also with skills get you better salary. Minimum 7.5 cgpa is mandatory to have you sit for campus placements. The lowest package is 3.4 LPA and highest vary but students also get 14LPA easily. Wipro, tcs ,cap ,gemini, amazon , ibm etc.

Likes

The campus is big and full of greenery with the vibrant feel of nature.
The students of the same batch are friendly and helpful.
The teacher's are friendly and helpful. They do provide helpful recommendations for the betterment of your future.

Dislikes

The seniors are overly harsh when it comes to 1st year.
The infrastructure could be worked on. The college lacks renovation.
The hostel does require everyday cleaning and renovation as well as the campus.

Placement Experience:

I don't know much about this but I guess from the sixth semester the students are eligible for campus placements. This year a student from AEIE got a package of 11.2 lacs per annum and the average is around 4 lacs per annum.

Time Management-the one thing that I disliked was their time management.They dont provide a proper shedule for exams,routines etc

Plans after getting the degree: My plans depends on placement.If I get a job of around 15 LPA then I will not do master degree and if I get job of around 4-5 LPA then I will do master for further great opportunities

After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. There many service based companies visited like TCS ,Cognizant, wipro, Infosys. Almost 60-70% student placed in on campus. Heritage - A Review for Peers

I applied to SRM and BIT. I did not choose SRM because the fees were too high and rejected BIT because the infrastructure was not as good as Heritage, although the fee structure was same. I applied to plenty of state engineering colleges and only made it to UIT, BU which has awful facilities and a good ragging culture. So I opted out and went to a private college. Among private colleges, as far as I know, WB, IEM and Heritage are considered to be better. IEM's strict uniform code, zero campuses made me choose Heritage over IEM.
