Entrance Preview

I already had my few friends studying in this college and saw how happening the college is even the staff and teachers were friendly. I knew at that moment. If I wanted to have a good college life and a career then this is the college you have to get in.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is just as good as I heard about it. As we are media students they treat us like one. They give us projects related to our course rather than wasting our time on something else. They make us watch old English movies just to make our English fluent.

Internships Opportunities

I'm in first year so I don't have an idea as the college has just started and didn't really think about doing any kind of internship at this moment of time. But I have heard by my friends from second year and third year that the college provide internships.

Placement Experience

I don't know about it because I am in first year and we have not yet informed about any placements and job opportunities but I have heard it from my friends and even my friends have got good jobs through this college and they are happy so I guess the job opportunities are really good compared to other colleges.

College Events

One of the college where every festival is celebrated by everyone in the department. They don't differentiate between any religion which is really cool. Because the students now are a lot smarter than the students then who used to be bias on the religion.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is bit more than other colleges but paying 40,000 for all the infrastructure and all the facilities that this college provide us is total vasool. We have a theater in our college, a daylight studio, good canteen (clean) and to maintain all these they had to charge us this much.

Hostel Facilities

We don't have a hostel i stay in my own house. The maximum expenditure including electricity bill, water bill, gas bill and house rent would be around 21,000 per month. Food in our canteen is really good it also serves non vegetarian food unlike other colleges.

External Expense: Rs.10000 - Rs.15000

Faculty

The faculty was the one reason why i was interested in getting into don Bosco's. Most of the teachers are members or somehow related to mumbai university. And have a great teaching experience with students of different capabilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.

I chose this course because I want to be in the film industry. I want to become an actor. This course helps us to get aware of all the media industries. Be it films or television or even radio. Now, there are even more fields such as Public Relations and Event Management. There is an almost equal number of girls and boys. The faculty have industry experience and are well-spoken. They help us in each and every way possible. The use of presentations and modules is common. The learning process is fun and easy. The examinations are conducted in a semester pattern. There are a total of 6 semesters that are conducted on time. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics such as communication, films, photography, etc.

KJ Somaiya College is a very huge college and has a perfect system of everything. Proud to be a student of this college. They have extra curricular activities cultural forum fests and much more. I got into DBIT post completion of my diploma so it was a DSE or Direct second year engineering entry students , I got EXTC engineering in the second CAP round . The college offers Engineering in 4 Branches namely Computer Engineering , IT , EXTC, and Mechanical and students can get admission through either by doing 12th or after diploma . For students who have did 12th the college accepts admission through MHTCET and JEE the cutoff are usually high above 90+ percentile for Computer and IT branch while slightly low 80%+ for EXTC and Mechanical branch. The college has a overall seats of 120 seats in computer engineering Dept 60 of which are reserved for Christian Students. DBIT Mumbai will teach one daring!!

MH-Cet percentile of 97 is required as even though it was lockdown when i took admission the cut-off was still that. Yes, in that cut-off, getting admission is tough but cometh the hour, cometh the man is what DBIT believe in. DBIT MUMBAI : where learning meets vibrant campus life .

i didnt applied to other colleges because my sister used to study in DBIT so i was sure the college will be good . while i also thought i was elegible for the college so i preferred DBIT for its approachable faculty and industry connections. the adimission process at DBIT involves eligibility based on 12th- grade marks and MHT-CET schores with atypical cutoff arounf 85-90 percentile for IT. the process is smooth, with a centralized counseling ensuring transpency. rejections elsewhere were due to higher cutoffs but DBIT has proven to be a great choice overall....Read More
