Remarks

I have applied in three colleges the first one is in IGNOU for BCOM and in IP university for BBA and In jims for BCOM but later on I have Decided to BCOM from IGNOU . Because along with BCOM I am also pursuing company secretary course it requires a lot of time so I want a college where I don't have to attend college regularly . I had not availed any quota . The criteria for getting admission in IGNOU is very simple you have to just pass class 12 th from any recognised board. The admission process was totally online you have to fill you personal and educational details and to upload some necessary documents . And after that you have to pay the requisite fees and then the admission process is complete . There was no counseling day.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course because I was from a commerce background and it is easy for me to understand the subjects in BCOM rather than any other course .The teacher to student ratio is 1:40.The faculty of IGNOU is highly qualified and experienced but their teaching method is not so good . The exams tooks place twice in a year i.e semester exams. Students whose concepts are clear and studied nicely will easily clear the exams .

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of IGNOU for BCOM programme is 2900 (per year ) and if you have to pay examination fees also when IGNOU takes out the examination form . The fees is very nominal i.e 750 per semester . The price of exam fees may fluctuates .IGNOU does not provide any kind of scholarship , financial assistance and as it is a distance college you have to find jobs by your own they does not provide any campus jobs .

Campus Life

No annual fest and tech fest are conducted as it is distance college. You can find variety of books and journals in library depending upon the centre you got through IGNOU . Amenities in classroom also depends upon the centre you choose or you got. No sports and extra curricular activities are conducted in IGNOU . There is no website or social groups run by students but there are some WhatsApp group of IGNOU which is managed by student's.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since it is open learning university..they couldn't give us time.. because the class also got started 1 month before exam...and teachers had to finish...the syllabus. But they don't really care about us. And syllabus I think is okay .. in Commerce. It is updated.

Overall College life experience.

Placement Experience:

After completing 4 semester you are eligible to sit into on-campus placements i.e. after completing your second year. Companies start to arrive in final year or pre final year of you're going for 4 year degree. Big 4 companies like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PWC and other companies like accenture, zomato, airtel can be seen in placement season. Average package is 4-5 LPA ranging from college to college and depends individual skill set and practical experience. Highest could go upto 22LPA in our college. Half of the students gets placed during the season but not all. After competition of degree students can pursue various courses like CA, CS or praper for CAT/GMAT.

This college is not good enough for upgrading skill and knowledge.

Placement Experience:

SSNC have a placement cell which provides internship details and also shat company hiring details. 3rd and 4th semester students are eligible for internship Highest average package is approx 12 LPA and average price is approx 5LPA and actually I don't know which company give the highest and to whom.

Students get placements in the last semester before the last exams as per my knowledge the average package is 4 to 5 lpa and highest package was 15lpa . Not all the students get placed from the college only the one's with good skills and some experience about the work are chosen.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

All about Distance study in Ignou

Literally I dont have that much idea about private distance colleges that time And i heard about Ignou that its certificate is valid.
