Remarks
I applied to some other colleges and such (most of them low-level), some through the WBJEE allotment, and others through word of mouth. I stuck with this college because it felt "right" in every way. The admission process was simple, I went into the college, filled in some documents, and got admitted. From what I gathered, the admission criteria is that you pass Physics and Mathematics, and have an aggregate of 45% in Physics, Mathematics, and (Chemistry/Computer Science/Biology) combined. I did not have much of a counselling day, aside from a physical reporting to the admission cell.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course Computer Science and Engineering because it's the subject I'm highly passionate about. I've loved video games ever since I was a child, and wish to become a professional game developer in the future. So I'm doing Computer Science so I can get a place in a game company. The college has a 15:1 student to faculty ratio, most of whom are highly qualified (the faculty I mean) and really nice. You will love them, because they are helpful and lenient, and keep the environment from getting monotonous. Their teaching methods are really good, and they thoroughly explain every aspect of the topic using a plethora of examples and demonstrations. And if you get tired, they allow you to rest a bit before pressing on to the next part. As of late, the end term exams timings are having delays because of the pandemic. But otherwise, the exams are timed and you can estimate when they will happen. As for difficulty, they're relatively easy if you know what to do.
Internships Opportunities
The teachers keep handing out plenty of internship opportunities for those interested, and you're bound to love one or the other, should you wish to do something to keep you occupied in your off-time.
Placement Experience
Placements start from the 4th year on, and here we receive a ton of companies like BYJU'S, Artech, Amazon, etc. My plans after getting a degree are to join a company, receive training and internship as a software developer, and later in life gain enough experience to put my dreams into paper and make the games I want.
Fees and Financial Aid
In the first semester, you pay to double the amount about 90000, but otherwise, the fee is a steady Rs 45,000 per semester. There is an option to pay in advance or to delay the payment.
Campus Life
Every year we have tech fests, cultural fests, etc. Usually, everyone is free to participate (including students from other colleges), most of these are organised by a team of students and teachers, where it is ensured that everyone enjoys and loves the events. There are tons of books in the library, which they readily hand over to students who need research materials and/or love to read books. The classrooms are plain and simple, but there is a game room where you can play games, as well as a sporting complex right next door where you can have some fun if you get agitated.
