Remarks

College is really a good choice for those who are ready to be in full discipline for their upcoming 4years but if you are interested in some kind of shortcuts better don't opt for this course it's really challenging.Your each day is a challenge so if you are ready go for next year CAT applications. Gud luck.

Entrance Preview

JEE, WBJEE, CUSAT, VIT, KIIT I appeared for all these exam.Although I wanted to go for private college but getting a government college at Kerela seems like private.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

There is a lot opportunity for people who want to research in these field. Many new technically more equipped ships are developed nowerday. You have a great chance to deal with machines like I.C ENGINE, MOTORS, WATER CLEANERS, AIR CONDITIONING, REFRIGERATION so, if u are interested in research go for our college.

Internships Opportunities

Yes,it provides internship but as I am in second year I am not acquainted with it properly but last year few of my seniors went to HINDUSTAN SHIPPING LIMITED (VISHKH) for internship and their had a wonderful experience over there other places for internship are Cochin Shipyard.

Placement Experience

3.5

Let me tell you that your placement at CUSAT totally depends upon your performance in academics and sports too if you are not good enough don't hope for placement its not like any private University which will place you in some or the other company so,be prepared for tough competition. If percentage wise we call it's 70% placement.

College Events

3.5

Year beginning starts with SARGAM(cultural fest of CUSAT) Onam, DIWALI, Christmas celebration are also held in events we have Inter college Cricket, basketball, chess, football, table tennis, volleyball. All events are held at different levels. Many of our seniors had represented our college at national level. So,it's a golden opportunity for sports lover to be part of our university.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is feasible if we compare it with other institute having B.Tech marine engineering course. At, tolani it's some 18-20 lac but here it's just 12lacs including mess fees for students coming from outside Kerela and 10 lacs for Kerealite student.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my college girls candidate are given 50% scholarship on academic fees but,as it's a marine engineering course very few girls opt for this program. Muslim, SC/ST/OEC candidate are also getting discount in their fees. Loan facility is for every candidate who are part of CUSAT.

Campus Life

3.5

If you are a home sick definitely coping with hostel life will be tough for you and if you are not then also it's not going to be easy because you will hardly get outing time they fully prepare you for being on ship life at any residential program is not easy. Coming to gender diversity our branch has least girls.I mean there is a batch of 80 in which only 2 girls are there(My case) there are many student representative parties who time to time take care of students demands if there is any problem with students they can seek help from student union.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Well hostel accommodation is very impressive but coming up to mess food u may not find it good if you are belonging from North States(My Case). But if you are mentally prepared to face the challenge it won't affect you much food standards are good but getting used to that food will take time and according to what I think adaptability and human are having very strong relation.

Exam Structure

Well, talking about exams frequent tests are held on the basis of regular class room teaching apart from test there is mid semester and semester exam which are held every 6 months the best thing about the test which is held in between regular teaching is it prepares us easily for our semester because getting all modules completed a night before exam is not easy.

Admission

Through CUSAT CAT exam you can get admission in this college.Exam consist of question breakup in PCM in which much preference is given to maths section.Total 250 questions are there in which 125 from maths,75 from physics and 50 from chemistry.Your rank is decided with this mark. So,study hard.Questions are moderate but main problem is time adjustment as you have to answer all questions in just 3 hours.

Faculty

3

See, no ENGINEERING college is blessed with faculty which we get in our JEE coaching institutes (KOTA-Resonance,CP).So if your expectation are of that level u will get screwed up you will find teachers who just teach for money.Very few teacher are dedicated in teaching to the best way they can you'll find some who hardly care about what they teach so,I would say start self study in college if u really want to study and be in touch with few good teacher of your college. That's what the condition in my college too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
