SurTech: Best College for Automobile Engineering

I had taken Lateral Admission in this college after completing my Diploma. Since I was inclined to Higher Studies after I completed my Diploma, I searched for B.Tech colleges in Automobile Engineering(AUE). After finding the Sur Institute of Technology and Sports Complex details and observing the Automobile Lab, I decided to study here. I didn't avail any kind of quota for Admission. There is no such Minimum age bar or marks for admission. Though it is desirable to have the marks of 60% in Diploma since it helps in the Placement Process. As I decided to study in this college, I went to contact the Admission Cell. The counselor was very nice asking me to fill up my form and submit all the relevant documents. After filling up the form and submitting the documents, I paid the Admission Fees. The process was really hassle-free.

As an Automobile Freak from my school days to Diploma Years, I decided to continue my further studies in Automobile Engineeirng only. following that path and observing the state-of-the-earth laboratory facilities available here, I decided to choose this college only. The faculty-student ratio is near about 1:15, which substantially follows the AICTE guidelines. The faculties are really qualified and they teach with extreme dedication and care. As I have studied both Online and Offline methods both, I can understand, how much effort they are putting in. The PPT's, Notes, Lecture Videos are really easy to grasp. All these materials are available in the LMS Portal, which is again a fantastic initiative launched by the Institute and the JIS Group. All the internal exams are conducted in the LMS portal, twice a month. The Slot Tests/ Term Exams are conducted in My-Perfectice Portal, twice a semester.

Mostly Internships are provided in the 6th Semester, where we get several offers from INTERNSHALA and AICTE TULIP PORTAL, where we are suggested to register ourselves for the Internships. Last week, there was an internship Drive with the Design-Startup ELEATION, where five students were selected for the INTERNSHIPS.

The students become eligible for placements from 7th Sem. The companies visited in this academic year are TCS, WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, INFOSYS, BYJU's, Bombay Metals, TOUJOURS PERITUS, REPOSE ENERGY and others. Highest package was offered by BYJU's of 10 LPA. The avreage pacakge is near about 3-3.5 LPA. Near about 75-85% students get placed every year. After my B.Tech, I will try to settle in the Automotive Core Sector.

Since, my admission in this college,there is no such fee hikes. And the changes in semester fees are due to the additional facilities provided. Due to the pandemic and Lockdwon, there hasn't been any fees hike. Many Scholarships are available in our Institute. 1. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship (Govt. of WB) 2. Oasis (for Reserved Categories) and Aikashree (For MInority students) issued by Govt. of West Bengal 3. National Level Schoalrships are also available. The college helps in all possible ways and means to provide the documentation needed for applying Financial Assistances and Bnak Loan.

The annual Tech Fest Manthan is organized every year in the month of March. Sparsh, the cultural Fest follows it in April. Near about 45,000 titles are available in our Library. We can read and issue these as per our needs. Since the Pandemic, E-Books are being provided. JIS even condcuted a Book distribution to ensure that everybody recieves the Books. All the regular amenities are available in the classroom. Annual Sports and several cultural events are organized. Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cell does all kind of activities to promote Entrepreneurial activities. NPTEL Local Chapter along with SAE Collegiate Club are here, which allows us to participate in the National Level competitions like BAJA and Efficycle.
