Remarks

Admission was through an online application on the basis of merit. There wasn't any counseling given. When I got selected, I got a call from the college for showing up and paying admission fees of around 7000. Then the class started. I have taken admission based on merit. But quotas for Christian students are available.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My course was BSc Family and Community Science or Home Science. It was a practically relevant course focused on Human Health and Nutrition. The faculties are good and student to teacher ratio is 10:1. Most of the faculties are Ph.D. holders with good experience. The labs are good as well.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

We can choose where ever we need to do internships. College support students in such cases. Also, college to provides internship options for the students We did internships at CTCRI, Larkcs lifelink, and Kerala Agricultural University which gave us immense practical knowledge.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is around 6000 for a year. Scholarships for students of OBC and SC/ST and minorities are available. Merit scholarships are also given. On-campus job opportunities are not available. Students with financial difficulties are supported by the management. Fees are very less when compared to other colleges.

Campus Life

4.5

The college conducts many fests and intercollegiate competitions. There are NSS and NCC too. Apart from this, the art and sports wings are very strong here. Classrooms are clean and big with enough desks and benches. The library is huge with almost all the books required in it. There are many clubs as well as an online library for students.

Other Applied Colleges

St Thomas College, Thrissur | Bachelor of science

The college is too small in size.

The curriculum is one of the main source for may competitive examination. This make us easier to write those exams. As maths is essential in life, application in real life is possible. Also the curriculum is good for futher academic process. If the weightage of each module is given, it will be very usefull. Timing of exams and improvement exam must be adjusted according to result announcement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Biotechnology is a booming industry in the world. I had selected this course hoping to achieve a successful career here in India. Little did I know that biotechnology had not picked up its pace yet in India. The exams conducted was frequently with 1 or 2 model exams in each semester for theoretical and practical. This helped us to have enough basic knowledge when we finally pass out. It would be better if more internships and industrial visits are included in the syllabus. It would give a better idea about our future. It will also help us to boost our resume. The jobs in biotechnology offers low salary here but large varities of experience can be gained. This helps us to have a better career outside of India.

Remarks:

Good remarks are our laboratory and library. These facility help us a lot for our study. The one thing and feel bad is our canteen. Our canteen needs more development. It require some more space and some standard foods. What we have now is average, we need a good canteen. All other facilities in our college are good according to me.
