Entrance Preview
I appeared for GATE 2010 exam. I scored 30.33 marks out of 100. My GATE score was 436. I opted for this college because it was an autonomous institute and placements are also good.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was good as per industrial requirements. There were some subjects like Advanced DSP, Wavelet Transforms and Applications (Elective), VLSI DSP which are very good from research point of view. The Second year of M. Tech is dedicated to dissertations or internships in companies.
Internships Opportunities
Yes the college allows for internship. In our batch only 1 student went for internship in company. The stipend was around 15000 per month. After our batch more companies visited for offering internship.
Placement Experience
The placement is very good. Most of the students were having multiple job offers from different companies. From our batch around 4 students were placed out of 10. Different companies like Infosys, Cognizent Accenture, Hella, 3D PLM, Canon etc visited for campus placement for M.Tech electronics. The package for the companies was around 3.5 lac.
College Events
The technical event that is celebrated in college is named as "Vision". It is generally organised in the month of February. The annual social gathering is also organised for UG as well as PG students. In addition to this, before gathering there is a week with different days like traditional day, odd day etc. Also some technical workshops are conducted by individual department in every semester.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee during our batch 2010-12 was 50000 rupees later on it was increased. the fee included everything like Tuition fee, Library fee, Gathering fee etc. Apart from fees,any additional money was NOT taken from students. I do not remember the exact fee distribution.
Fees and Financial Aid
I was a GATE qualified student hence I was getting a stipend of 8000 rupees per month. This stipend was given by MHRD, India
Campus Life
The gender ratio for electronics, computer science etc was almost equal as compared with branches like civil and mechanical where girls were less. The students in college were from various parts of Maharashtra and some were from other states. There is no any discrimination among students based on caste, economic status etc All students participate in various events which are organised in college or outside college.
Admission
I got admission to this college through GATE exam. Around May or June the notification about the admission was released in newspapers as well as college website. 2-3 weeks after the last date of application, the merit list was displayed. The list was based on GATE score. Around 7th or 8th of July 2010 students were called to confirm their admission. The documents were verified during admission process.
Faculty
Almost all the faculties are having the teaching experience of about 20 years. Most of the faculty members have Ph.D or they are on the verge of completing their research. Most of the faculties use ICT for teaching in classroom. The faculties also give examples that relate to situations in industries, this helps student to get overview of industry.
