Remarks

I scored 95.6% in class 12 and I was pretty sure that I will get admission to Delhi University. The eligibility criteria were the best 4 subjects in class 12th and then I got admission to Daulat Ram College. However, I expected to get admission to Kirorimal college or Ramjas college. But, I am also satisfied with Daulat Ram College as it's one of the prestigious girl's college of Delhi University. I was from the OBC quota.

Course Curriculum Overview

The professors are good but not very good. They are ready to solve your doubts related to only your subject and during office hours only. I have chosen b.com prog because it will be a great option if we have to go to pursue MBA or any other competitive exam. The faculty: student ratio is is 1773:100, which is pretty good. The teachers here are very well qualified and all are PhDs and MPhil. We have semester exams, twice a year. The teaching methods here are very good. The focus is always on the practical aspect.

Class Size: 105Course Fees: INR 16890 per year

Internships Opportunities

Our college every year have a summer internship fair, and the highest paid internship for the year 2019 was Rs 13000. But most of the internship is unpaid. VOMS, AIESC, Doubtnut, unschool, teach for India are some of the 80 companies which take part in our annual internship fair, INCREMENTUM

Placement Experience

Our college provides both internship and placements opportunities to the students. Internships are available to 1st and 2nd-year students, while 3rd-year students can avail placements from companies like Wipro, Deloitte, Ernst and young, etc. The average package is 4 lakhs and the highest package till so far is 12 lakhs per annum. 20 percent of students get to the placement opportunities as most of the students are considered about pursuing further studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is quite flexible, which means that the fee of courses is always below Rs.20000/annum. And also, here students are provided scholarships, but not all the students are eligible for scholarships as they are provided based on the economic condition of a student. The scholarship is in the form of a fee waiver, or an extra amount provided by the college to purchase books and other necessary stuff.

Campus Life

The social life of students in our college is just wow. Our college has a lot of societies, cells and clubs. For ex- The debating society, dramatics society, fine arts society, film and photography society, fashion society, placement cell, entrepreneurship cell and many more. It's a fact that introverted students finally change here to extroverted one's. We have the biggest auditorium at Delhi University. Library, trans seminar halls, residential faculty zone are also there.

The faculty members are supportive, knowledeable. Teacher explain concepts clearly and encourage student to participate in discussion
I like friendly and comfortable campus environment. student from different background intreact with each other
The college provides a good acedemics foundation and opptunities for overall development. being Part of delhi university also give student exposure to different events

Dislikes

some classroom and campus facilitues need improvement
placement oppotunites can be improved, esecially for student looking for better corporate exposure.
the evening college schedule can something be inconveibient because many acitvity and oppotunities are generally more accessible during regular college hours

I would rate the course curriculum around 4 out of 5. The curriculum is well structured and covers important subject related to commerce, accounting, finance, economics and business. I chose this course because is provides a strong foundationfor higher studies, competetives exam and careers in the cmmerce field

Life at South Campus

Likes

The crowd at venky is great, diverse crowd.
The campus is well maintained and is one of the bests at DU.
Opportunities provided to students are great

Dislikes

The attendance policy is a little strict for 1st and 2nd year

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.

Shyam Lal College( Morning) Review

Likes

College is improving day by day teaching faculty is also helpful it recently got A++ NAAC credition as well
Overall college is good if you have good peer group.
Near to north campus so doesn't really feel much of headache if you want to visit regularly.

Dislikes

Shadara is not a good place to spend your college life.
Evening college crowd has made the reputation of the college bad.
Near by area is not safe for Girls in late hours.

Placement Experience:

6th sem is the first time college placement are proceeded . Companies are not impressive and mostly are entry level jobs such as cold calling and such which they offer. Highest package was 4 lpa and avg was 2.5 only. Around 60 percent students gets placed.

Likes

The online learning platform is easy ans simple to use students can acces lecture and assigments and study materials anytime
Faculty mambers provide clear guidance through online sessions and study materials they are supportive
They procides recording that was very usefull when we will not attend the live class

Dislikes

Since the classes are in online and also there are some techical issues while taking classes that will interupt classes
placement support is limited in online classes so students need to search for internships and job oppertunities on their own
Its deffecult to connect student coordinators while we wnat exam timetable etc they are too slow

I choose BCOM because the want to take ACCA after BCOM it will helps to improve my career and give a better job and also BCOM is the basices of ACCA like law, financial managment, taxation etc .The curriculam provide strong fountation for students who wamts to pursue higher studies such as M.COM , MBA and professuonal couses. BCOM helps to understanding real world bussiness practices , accounting sytem etc . on;ine study material recordimg leture and assigments also make flexible for students to study their own pace. exams are usually conducted semister wise the difficulty level 0of exam are moderate if students were attend the class regulary and prepare well

Likes

Faculties are best. They teaches you and create never ending bond with you.
Infrastructure is good but the area is small , the greenery is amazing and flowers are sooo sweetest.

Dislikes

No hygiene in canteen. Avoid eating from canteen.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant notably the focus on real world applications and Advanced Financial reporting. It prepared me well for professional life. Improvement is needed in digital tool exposure.

i dont like any thing in this college

there is a green gaurden in my colleges old campus
we have a big ground in our college which i like i can play football there
they make an football ground in old campus which is good

Dislikes

techers are not good in teacing they just want to let it go the classes
my college was too small and the classes are not properly furnished for my class size
there is no place for sit in the shade or to make our mind diverted or have fun and the canteen is worst of old campus

i am from commerce background i want to do eco honers but in 12th i dont have mathematics so i cant then i decideid for b. com honers but i aloted the b.com program which is my 3rd priority umm i leanrd new things in my ncc and with my friends there are very less college activities to i dont know how to make my college life good and make some experiences they can make us travel with them to the real buiseness or any factory or a relay paper work from any company i want to do a camp in jab which is good for my ncc life but it is during my exams thats why i cant did that camp yet

i liked their faculty member and staff , they are played with students and taught as a friend
i liked canteen service and their foods it is hygienic but canteen infrastructure is not good
i liked their ground its have bollyball court basketball court badminton court and cricket ground also and they provide gym in college

Dislikes

i didn't like their campus because its not too much big
and college provide which lift service is not working properly
their bathroom is not too good and not too much hygienic

i choose bcom hons and all teacher are provide their 100% on their courses but neet to improve in practical exam because some computer not working and teacher teach students in one computer but there is no difficult paper according to time some time it's lengthy.

To be honest I only applied for Delhi University through CUET and I selected many colleges from DU like Miranda, Hansraj, Lady Shri Ram, Kirori Mal, many from the south and off campuses and in the first phase I got this college DRC and this course BA Programme English and History and I thought that this was an interesting course so that's why I chose this subject and college but if I could have upgraded my choices there was a chance that I could get seleced in other college but I chose to go with this option and some of my friends also got that college. I did not applieed for any other university/college except DU. To get to DRC college we have to attempt the CUET entrance exam from which we can get admission here by filling this college in your preference.For general category the cutoffs get so high for specifically north campus colleges, But as I belong to ST so that way it was a bit easier to get admission....Read More

This college is under the University of delhi and they have a totally different method of choosing their students as compared to other private colleges or universities. Here we apply to all the colleges under DU from our choice according to the course that we want to take. my awesome college drc

review of daulat ram college from the lens of a psychology honours student

Daulat Ram College has one of the best faculties for psychology hence it was top three in my preference list. Very active in extra curricular activities along with an amazing faculty. other colleges above this were Lady Shri Ram college and Jesus and Mary college. i missed both those colleges by 20,25 marks. Lady Shri Ram is the best for psychology followed by a tie between JMC and DRC in my opinion. although JMC's western music society was my key interest and the location of the college which is chanakya puri made me put it in second....Read More
