Entrance Preview

I was admitted in NIT-D in M. Tech Thermal Engg. after qualifying GATE.The cutoff are a follow (appx.)General- 650, SC/ST- 400+, OBC- 560+ I opted for NIT-D becoz placement here are appreciable in Mechanical Engg. as compared to other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course i organised as 1st year- 2 sem with 5 subject in each. 2nd Year- No theory subject- Only project

No Internship provided for the college.

Placement Experience

Placement for BTech is good as a lot of good companies come here to recruit. For Mtech the Job are very less except fr some college and companies like L & T. Even IITs follow same trend.

College Events

Lots of Departmental fests are held throughout, so no complaint on tht.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is 40000 per sem.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel are ok but crowded a they are 4 in each room!!

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Exam Structure

Exam are 1 Mid Sem, (20 mark) (20 October) and 1 end Sem(70 Mark). The gap i considerable & one can eaily study with ease.

Faculty

Faculty in Thermal Engg. is very cooperative and understanding. They are always available for help but there i acute shortage of faculty.

M.Tech in IIT KGP - What you need to know.

The placement scenario in IIT KGP is great if you're a B.Tech student. For M.Tech the placements are good but only in other departments like ME, CSE and CHE. Mostly students pursue research after M.Tech.

There are wonderful placements going on in our college. The person with good talent will for sure get job here. Even they may become wonderful entrepreneurs. Minimum package will be 6LPA and average will be 20LPA.

At the end of 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placements. 1000 of company visit campus every year in January and December month. Placement takes place in two form one in December and other in January. Like IBM, puma, ICC bank, Deloitte, ABG, Lenovo, etc. highest package is about 2.68 crore per annum, average 15lpa According to different profiles. Students should have more than 8.5 cgpa for good placements. I will join a good company after completing the degree.

Get admission for only getting degree don't expect much. Every 2 years alumni meeting happens in our college you can find some help from old students but don't expect much from this college. After completing no one will provide job.

I think this was the best college onmy rank. NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

I applied to IIEST Shibpur and was getting ECE there but I chose this college because of its brand name, infrastructure and placement which are all way above shibpur. No I did not get any rejection form college I applied for.
