Remarks
Got the seat, which was worth crores. So I just joined without a second thought. This college is a government college, so the fee is very less even compared to engineering colleges. I reported to college submitted the necessary documents, signed the bond and paid the fee.I preferred this college as it's a government college, which gives a better exposure to patients and has a better practical experience. There's no need of advertisments for a medical College, I just was it in exam listing and tried it.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was not really oriented and prepared for this course, it is really stressful, and requires love for the field which I don't possess. Join this course only if you have love for the subject. This course has 19 subjects in total, which will be learned in 4.5yrs. As mentioned I got here just because I got a seat worth crores. There are around 5-7 professors in a department. The teacher: student ratio is approximately 1:5.All faculty have MD or a MS, execpt for tutors who have M.Sc. Teaching mentions aren't the best, it's all ppt and reading. You have to read theory by yourself, and learn practicals from faculty.Exams are timely with a few months gap, but thanks to covid, our exams were rushed. This is MBBS, so don't expect one to pass by just one nighter as in engineering. You will need strong fundamentals and concepts to get through. MBBS exams are literally the most stressful exams, which can even impact your health.
Internships Opportunities
1 year internship is mandatory for all students, with a stipend of 30000INR per month. This is done after you finish your final year of the course. This is a medical College, so there are no projects.
Placement Experience
Medical colleges have no placements, you have to crack NEET PG complete PG, and once you have a PG in a good field, you can join where ever you want, as you're a doctor on demand, not a normal engineer who has to apple here and there.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee was 69500INR for our batch, but now it is around 2,50,000 INR (excluding hostel fee). Job opportunities work different in medicine. You don't have to go hunting for jobs or get selected by companies like in engineering. Once you complete the course, there's a 1yr mandatory internship in the college. You will be paid on a monthly basis. Following internship, you will have to complete the rural service bond which you signed before joining there course. It will be 1 yr for us. You will be paid for your rural service. At this point, you can settle with a full time goverment job in a PHC or study higher for PG. It's similar in PG, once you crack NEET PG (which is soon going to be called as NEXT) and get the seat, this will have to study and work at the same time. You will be paid stipend during your PG course. After completion of 3yr PG course, you will have a 1yr senior residency bond in a government college after which you can join or work where ever you want.
Campus Life
Speaking about the college, it's sub standard compared to its sister colleges (those which opened in the same colleges). The college is way small for a medical College, even my school was bigger. It's not so good in terms infrastructure, no digital library and e classes. Faculty is fine, don't expect much, in this course it's all on what you read. Our hospital is small, and lacks many facilities. Library is trash. There are only 10-15 copies of a book, you can't get your hands on them easily. The library is a joke, you have to take your own books and read in the library. Library is way sub standard, it's just a huge hall with tables and chairs, nothing much. It's not sufficient to accommodate all batches especially during exams.Annual functions are also not up to that mark, will consider them also substandard. There's no real talents to entertain the crowd. It's not on the level of a typical college fest. There's are around 2fests in a year, which are not really worth it in my opinion. Sport activities go on, I'm not into sports so I'm the wrong guy. Our college has gone for a few competations and there is a annual sports fest.Don't expect "not-so-intellegent" (in terms of extra curricular things, not academics) to host a website. People don't even know how to copy files on a computer. This college overall is sub substandard over all. I would not recommend this course if you are not really interested. Keep this college as the last option, there are many better colleges, but if you are really desperate for a government college, join this college and stay outside the hostel as a day scholar. Trust me you won't enjoy a college life here with the lack of minimal facilities here, hot whether, no places to hangout , very boring opposite sex (girls) , no shopping , no good food/fastfood.
Admission
Annual system. Consists of internals, and final exam. A typical exam contains theory and practical. Theory of where you write, and practical is where you demonstrate. It's mandatory for a student to pass in both. There will be 3 such internals, and it's best of 2 average will decide your appearance in final exam. This should atleast have 35% from internal assessments and 75% attendance (theory and practical both) to be eligible for final exam. In final exam you should score atleast 50% in both theory and practical to move on to next year.Admission process is mentioned above.I had to prepare using question banks and group discussions for practicals.
