Course Curriculum Overview
I would rather say, I am very fortunate that i was chosen by this college to study here. I chose aerospace because i am very interested in aircrafts and also the job postings of this course is very well paying as well. My course was for eight semesters and had winter and summer workshops as well. The faculties were very learned and they provided us with assignments and helped us throughout the course. Some of the topics that were taught are engineering mechanics, engineering drawing, life skills etc. This was the starting topics in my first sem, after which the course started getting advanced and more focus was required.
Placement Experience
The placement rate of IIT madras is very good. The placement posting usually takes place during the final years of college, when companies like airbus and even boeing hire fresh graduates. There are other big companies like TATA , IBM who visit the college campus as well for hiring. According to the figures the highest CTC received for a BTech student was 82 lakhs LPA while the minimum was 18 lakhs LPA.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The cost to study my program was seventy six thousand for a year. The mode of payment is on installment basis which needs to paid yearly. It is a course of four years and during the time of admission the fees that are included are tuition fees, registration fees, exam fees and other charges are included in the fees.
Campus Life
The campus covers an area of 617 acre. It has about fourteen cafeterias, and most of the area of the college is a protected forest. The campus has a few landmarks such as Gajendra circle. it is a residential area where staff and faculty live. Then we have Himalaya, the place where all messes are located. It also has a lot of inter college activities with sporting facilities like an olympic sized swimming pool. basketball courts and also different clubs. LIfe at IIT madras, is very beautiful overall as it gives a complete college experience.
