Remarks

I got admission through KCET practical Quota i.e, ( we must have a farm land and either of parent is farmer in Karnataka are eligible for this Quota). Seperate practical exam is held for 200 marks with 50 questions with no negative marking . Questions like farm equipment , cattle , seeds , crop identification is given. Rank is decided as minimum 50% in practical exam+25%KCET PCMB + 25% II PUC PCMB marks as an aggregate is used to decide rank and this rank is given as AGRI. PRACTICAL RANK with additional with AGRI THEIRY ( this based on II PUC and KCET PCMB score only). Cutoff is decided on college-wise, category-wise, Quota wise. My AGRI PRACTICAL rank was 495 and my AGRI THEORY was 10,625.I claimed OBC-IIA quota and got my college in 2nd round of option entry. If you are within 500 practical ranks and From OBC then for sure you will get a seat but can't predict the college. Caste and Quota wise cut-off is very huge .

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I was more interested to learn about nature and the environment so I opted for this degree. Per class, we have 70 students and per pratical batch around 30-35. Involves both interactive board and practical lecturer-based teaching, practical is more often held on fields based on course. Almost 99% of faculty have pursued a Doctorate and PhDs. The semester-based system with one semester upto5-6 months .each semester has 2 internal exam ( 25/30 marks Midterm +20 marks practical with manual) and one external for 50 marks and attendance for 5 marks for each course. Courses are easy to pass if we update ourselves with classes and follow the mentioned syllabus and attend practicals regularly . Our institution has strict evaluation.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Many workshops and boot camps are held to enhance skills and career opportunities. No So-called specific companies provide internships but a course called RAWE- Rural Agriculture work experience is added within the curriculum with provides you on ground experience to be with farmers and exchange your knowledge.

Fees and Financial Aid

Karnataka state scholarship -SSP is allotted based on caste category. Stipend is provided in RAWE programme . Another TA and DA is allotted if we are on University notified activities. Seldom private companies come for selection but Bsc. Agri provides a wide range of jobs with good packages in the public sector as compared to remaining degrees. Public sector jobs like (A.F.O, manager, breeder, teaching, entrepreneurship, bank-related, Junior scientists and many more another post)

Campus Life

4.5

Seperate building we have with numerous books and other materials required to enhance our career. Well-equipped classes with interactive boards and separate well-equipped labs for each department. Student association run by President election by student association council. NSS is held with a wide range of activities. Youth festivals and sports events are held yearly.( Students with 1st position are held as UNIVERSITY BLUE) helpful for getting a quota in further studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was very well structured with both theoretical and Practical exposure. The curriculum is designed in such a way that they are very relevant to real world , this also prepare the students to the real world applications and further academic pursuits. The improvements can be made in the practical part of the courses. There must be regular field visits and utilisation of funds to bring innovation. The internal exam would be after 2 to 2.5 months after the commencement of the semester and practical exams would be immediately after 10 days of the internals. The external or final exams would be after a month of practical exams. There will be enough time to prepare for the exams from the commencement of the semester but there will be no study holidays and gaps between the exams.
