A brief about your IHM life

I have applied for many hotel management colleges but AIHM was the best and I was lucky that I got admission there.No, I haven't availed any quota. You have to give the entrance examination known as NCHMCT. Admission process was really easy as we were sitting in the AC auditorium and the counselors were just calling our names one by one and doing their job.

I chose this course because I always wanted to be a chef. In the faculty, there were around 25-30 people and around 500 students. Each of the faculty had experience in the hospitality industry and they all shared a lot of their experience to help the students. There are 6 semesters in total and in every semester, 2 times examinations are conducted and it was really easy to pass. You just have to study one night before exams.

I was an Industrial Trainee at Hyatt Regency and my stipend was around Rs 2500. The IT was of 4 months and we were circulated in all 4 core departments each month and we have to do like every task no matter small or big.

After the 4th sem, a student becomes eligible for campus placements. Almost every big brand of hospitality comes in our college for campus placements like Taj, Oberoi, Hyatt, Lalit, Domino's, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, etc The highest package is given by Domino's around Rs 325000 PA The placement percentage of students are 100% I'm currently working at Domino's as a Manager.

The per sem fees is around Rs 55,000 but I think that this cost is justified because in my college, there are a lot of kitchen practicals and the cost of the ingredients are really high nowadays. Moreover, we also got our lunch from college so I think that the feed was justified. I got my job as a trainee in Hyatt regency new Delhi but now during my campus placements, I also got my job in Domino's and Pizza hut as a manager.

In AIHM, we have an annual function that is conducted in March every year. In the library, you can find any course-related book very easily. In AIHM, we celebrate sports day, we go to the playground and spend the entire day there doing many sports competitions, and prizes are also distributed that day. In AIHM, there are 3 clubs:- kitchen club, FnB club, and cultural club.
