"COLLEGE REVIEW : VIIT"

I have applied for colleges like pict,coep and vit. But due to the high cutoff of colleges for cs branch, I got admission in viit. The minimum percentile you need in mhtcet is around 90 percentile. But for getting into branches like CS and IT, you must have a percentile above 95. The admission is purely based on mhtcet dte counselling round. the minimum criteria are you must have passed your class 12th examination with a minimum of 50 percent marks. I got admission in the last round of my counselling. I got a CS branch there.

Actually, from the 8th standard itself, I have an interest in coding because of that I opted CS branch. The faculties are excellent. they are all very good, kind and helpful. they have well knowledge about their subject. they have great communication skills. many of them are PhD holders and remaining and persuing. overall great staff. There are two main examinations each year as for 4 years there are 2 semester examinations called insem and endsem examination. the paper difficulty level is not that hard. one can get easily good grades. the one must be attentive in class and read notes given by the teacher.

In the third year of college itself, The students can apply for internships. the internships are offered by the companies in college are TCS, Infosys, MindTree and an unpaid internship in the 7th semester of college which is compulsory for all students. many students get a direct offer from companies during the internship programme. There are many good projects on which student worked. web/android development, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, are some main projects outcomes.

The placements are good. the placements for core branches like civil and mechanical are decent the average package for these branches is around 3 to 4 LPA. but for the CS and IT branch, the placements are excellent. The highest package is offered to the CS student but off the campus of 28 LPA given by AMAZON. the mass recruiters are TCS, Infosys and Mindtree which gives a decent package. the overall average package is around 6 LPA.

The total fees for the academic year 2020 to 2021 are 168894 for the first year BTech course. We can expect around 4 to 5 thousand hikes each year in fees. the fees are quite high. but if you belong to any category and if you have availability of documents like NCL certificate then you are eligible for the fees concession and the scholarship, freeship programme offered by the college. there are also scholarships available based on merit number in the whole academic record for college,

The exposure is great. The main annual function is held between December, January. its name is GANDHARVA. also there are very small events and seminars carried out by staff and the student itself. Talking about the clubs, so there are around more than 15 clubs currently active in the college. for social work, there is Rotaract club available. for coding, sports, gaming etc also clubs are there. The library is good and accessible from the first day of college itself.
