Insights of my college

I applied in all the old IITs for Computer Science and Electronic engineering but due to my lower rank in jee advance not got the seat. I availed a quota of OBC for admission which somehow helps me to get into IIT Bhubaneswar. The admission to this college is only through JOSSA counselling for the B.Tech program. Where according to your jee advanced rank and quota you will get admission. There are no restrictions on age only you have to clear Class 12th. On counselling day firstly they verify documents and you have been asked to feel your details in ERP.

I am interested in the Electronics field and this branch is somehow the mixture of Software(some amount of coding) and Electrical branch so these not only helps in preparing for Electronics hardware jobs but also with software development jobs. Class strength in the Electronics branch is 45. The ratio of faculty: student is 1:45 so it makes the class more interactive. Faculty is highly qualified most of them have PhD in their field or equivalent qualification. Evolution of students is based on mid-semester exam(weightage 30%) , class tests and assignments (weightage 20%) and end-semester exams(weightage 50%). Exams are moderate to slightly difficult. Tutorials and notes help a lot in exams.

Yes, there are opportunities to do an internship outside the college in the 3rd-year summer. Companies do visit campus to hire intern also there is the chance of getting PPO and no need to sit in placements. Research intern is also available in college you can do that in summer and winter.

Campus placement is quite good. You can check in IIT bbs website. The average CTC is 15.9 LPA and the highest package is 43.9 lakh per annum. You can always have coded in backup for placement. We have seen people who do months of coding and get good placement offers.

The fees are almost 2 Lakh per annum. There are several scholarships in which your tuition fees will be refunded and you will get extra Rs 1000 per month if you are eligible for MCM otherwise you will only get a remission amount.

Campus life is really good. The campus is built on Barunei hill with 970 acres of green campus. So it's really nice to live in a fresh environment. There are four fests: Alma Fiesta(cultural fest), Wissenaire(tech fest), E-Summit and Ashwamedha. Books are available in the central library. There are courts and ground for cricket, football, hockey, table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton and squash. There are many clubs too for dancing, singing, photography etc.

Hostel rooms are really good. Every student has individual rooms. There is 24 hr electricity and water supply in hostels. The meal quality is really good. There is no such registration process. Rooms will be allocated during the admission process only. Students are not allowed to live outside the campus.
