AMAN SRIVASTAVA's Review On Institute Of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition - [IHM], Lucknow

I had applied in Amity University with the same course and after entrance and interview, I had selected but at the same time my JEE result was out and I got the AIR 2090 and then I focused on IHM because Ihm provides a lot of facilities and benefits to the students especially during the internship and placement time. After the first counseling, I had not selected in IHM Lucknow but in the second round of counseling i had got the IHM Lucknow. There was some family problem and personal issues I had not gone out of my town so that's why I have still waited for IHM Lucknow only. When I had got this, i was very overwhelmed and a lot of happiness. No, I had not no quota. I am from a general category. As such no minimum Mark's. College is allotted on the AIR basis and the upper age limit for the general category people is 25 years and for the SC/ST people is 28 years. My admission process was very good. All the employees and faculty of this institute is very helpful people.

I had chosen this course to become a chef. Actually, I am very good at Indian culinary and I would like to enhance my knowledge and skills by doing this course and surely it helps me a lot. Whatever taught in IHM's, never taught in other colleges. The way of speaking, listening, SOP's, patience, and the most important thing grooming, these all taught in IHM's only. There are a lot of faculty members for each subject and sometimes they hire on a contract basis for teaching and learning. Every faculty member is very educated and well presented. They all have a lot of knowledge and more experience. All the senior faculties have 30-40+years of experience and their teaching method is also very nice. They all treated their students like his/her own child. In every semester's there is a mid-term examination between the semesters and these mid-terms are very easy to score the highest marks.

I had done my industrial training at Taj Mahal Lucknow and I have a very wonderful experience. I had gone through all the four core departments of the hotel and 1 extra department,i.e, HR. I have a very nice experience and learned a lot of new things.

After completing the 5th semester, the students are eligible for campus placements. There are a lot of companies visited in IHM Lucknow like Oberois, Mariott, Vistara, Indigo, Reliance, Taco bell, Club Mahindra, ITC, Bata, Bikaner, Jubiliant, McDonald's, Novotel, Ramada, Le Meridien, Lemon tree, Crown Plaza, etc. Around 90-95% of students can get the placements. I am pursuing my master's from IHM Lucknow and after that, I will prepare for NHTET and want to become a faculty in any IHM.

The fees are very cheap in comparison to the Private colleges and they provide a facility of submitting the fees into 2 installments. I had not got any scholarship and the job I had got in Reliance as a store manager with 20000 in hand but I want to pursue my studies further so that's why I had left that job and applied for M.Sc in hospitality.

Every year in the month of February or march they have conducted a fest for 10 days. There are a lot of books and journals with different writers are available in the library. Classrooms are very simple. I don't like the classrooms of IHM Lucknow but I like all the core department labs. Yes, from time to time they conducted sone sports activities also like cricket, football
