My little college

Daily practical classes specially in the kitchen was what that influenced me to choose this course as I want to develop my skills in this department. The internship in this curriculum helps you to gain real life experience of the industry and helps to develop skills. On the completion of this course you can get a degree which you can apply for any further academic pursuits or can gain a job in any company. An improvement can be given in the theory classes of the course as people are not concentrated at the time of the theory. There are two exams per semester one being the mid semester exams and other being the end semester exam A decent amount of preparation time is given and my perspective is that the exams are very easy to clear.

All the popular 5 star hotel companies for example Taj, Oberoi, Hyatt, Accor, novotel, jw marriott, leela and so on, come in the campus for internship. The student is free to apply from the campus or walkin in the companies. The role offered in the internship is trainee where you help with the daily tasks of the hotel, in all the core departments. The internship is of 4 month and you receive a completion certificate. The internship is necessary and everyone needs to complete it in order to further pursue this course.

In the fifth semester the students become eligible for the campus placement. A lot of companies have visited example IHCL, Oberoi, Hyatt, Hilton, JLL, California Burrito and so on. Every company offered a management training program in their organisation. The highest package offred was of 420000 for a MT program 20 to 30% of students get the placement. To work under a reputated organisation.

The course is divided into 6 semesters The odd semester fees ranges around 60000 And the even semester fees will range around 40000. So yearly an amount of 100000 is submitted. You even need to pay for the IGNOU fees every year which is around 12000. The fees is slowly but gradually increasing. You can apply for scholarship if you are of SC/ST, OBC category and fall in the yearly income bracket of 100000 per year. Few of my batchmates get back almost complete of their college fees due to scholarship.

There is an annual festival goes by the name Concordia which includes various sports activities and cultural activities. The college is equipped with the library which contains a wide range of books and journals. The classrooms are equipped with projectors for easier demonstration and ceiling fans and AC are present in the practical classes. The only sports activities offered are at the time of the annual function and some extracurricular activities take place now and then. There is a anti ragging team running in the college which only looks after the Grievance of the students. And student event management team for cultural events. Students go out of their normal schedule and help with the groups and clubs.

The hostel room is equipped with ceiling fan, bed, chair, table and a window. There is a common washroom equipped with a geyser. The food provided in the mess is very bad, the menu is repetitive and becomes very boring for a longer time. The registration process for the hostel is very easy you just need to score a good rank and you will be able to apply for the hostel and the hostel is pretty affordable considering the city of Lucknow.

My first preference was this college only and after this The other preferences include IHM Delhi and IHM Mumbai. Since my first preference was this college IHM Lucknow and as soon as I got the confirmation I continued with it. I choose this college because of the popular celebrity chef Ranveer Brar also studied in this college. Since I see him as my mentor I applied for this college. No I did not get a rejection from other colleges since this was the only one college I applied to. To be eligible for taking admission in this college you first need to clear the NCHMCT JEE exam and after the exam you get a rank and based on the cutoff of different colleges you can apply for it. After that it is basic paper work and you can continue your college from there. My rank was 1400 and I was easily able to apply for the college. Even people with 9000 rank are there in this college woth their SC/ST category.

In practical classes there is 1 faculty for 50 students and in practical classes there is 1 faculty for 70 to 80 students. Except a few all the faculties are very helpful and approachable. The best faculty in the institute is sir Ankit dambhare, as he was very helpful and straightforward person. There are 2 exams per semester mid sem and end sem exams. Also there are 1 IGNOU exam per year, total 3. Almost 50% of the students get back in any 1 subject in the end term exam. Even though the exams are easy people fail to clear them and need to give re-exam. The course curriculum is pretty relevant

Since I reside in the hostel late night activities are out of question. The college is present in a defence colony hence not a lot of clubs are present nearby. Though simple gyms and cafes are present nearby where students can relax. The hostel timings are very strict where you cannot go out after 8:00 p.m. The famous hangout place inside the college is the parking area. The locality is pretty safe to rome around at night
