Remarks
One has to register themselves for the M.Sc. nchmct JEE Exam to enrol for M.Sc. in hotel management. According to your rank in the exam, you are allotted colleges of centre government according to your pre-filled preferences of college. Currently, there are 17 colleges to choose from with 550 seats under government IHM's. You can avail of the category quota if you are eligible.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to become a government professor therefore for further studies, I chose M.Sc. in Hotel Management. 1:20 is the faculty: student ratio. All the teachers are postgraduate and the Head of Departments are Doctorate holders. The teaching method is interactive and two way interaction. The exams were timely after every 6 months(May and November). The teachers are effective in teaching and passing exams is not so difficult.
Internships Opportunities
Students go for internship in the 2nd semester with a stipend of around 3000-5000 depending upon the company. It is a 1 month internship either in Human Resource or Sales and Marketing. basically, we learn about the industry and form our links. We may also secure a job for ourselves at this time. In both Human Resource and Sales and marketing, you need to perform associate level tasks and closely understand the working of organisations and their way of doing work.
Placement Experience
Students go for training in their 2nd semester, most of the students who want to work in the industry form their links and try to secure jobs during their training itself. Campus placements start in the 3rd Semester and continue in the 4th semester. Almost 100% placement by famous brands like Tata, Oberois, Hyatt, ITC, Marriot etc. highest package of my senior was of 7.5 lakhs per annum and the average package is around 3.6 lakhs per annum. 100 % placements, even some students secure 2-3 job offers. I plan to go into Academics and become a Government Professor, and for that, I have to appear for NHTET exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee per semester is around is 55000-60000 and for the complete course, it is around 2 lakhs and 20 thousand. The fee is quite affordable as compared to expensive private colleges. You can easily secure a study loan as the college is well reputed. No province of a scholarship. No job Currently as I am a junior at the point.
Campus Life
Various clubs such as Kitchen club, FnB club, Organising club, Photography club and many more. All the festivals are celebrated in the campus through themed parties. The abundance of books available to read at the library. Also, the college has its own annual Magazine. The classes are ventilated and have adequate furniture, smart boards have been installed with proper lighting and clean washrooms. Sports day celebrated every year having various sports like athletics, basketball, cricket and many more. Students form groups and enjoy various skill competitions held for them.
