Remarks

PSIT is one of the best private colleges available in Kanpur. It has a decent placement record. It has a decent infrastructure with some excellent faculties.(mark me "SOME") The labs are also good, not excellent, not bad. I guess one of the biggest con is that there is no chance for an individual to grow in the field of sports. As a student who has an interest in sports find themselves some other college not this. With our uptu exam marks and rank we can easily apply In college and most probably everyone passing the exam secures a seat. I wanted to stay in Kanpur itself due to some family issues so I chose this college. Saw various reviews in many reputed sites such as college dunia, quora, etc. And therefore I came to this conclusion and joined this college. Even some of my seniors suggested me this college because of its placement records.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Choosing information technology as a branch was really a tough call instead of computer science but looking at the current scenarios I find IT has more job opportunities than CS because there is a high demand for computer hardware and till 2025 there will be more chances for an IT engineer than a CS engineer. According to me some of the faculties are highly qualified in their subjects but that number is really less. But the ones who are perfectly trained provide an excellent environment for students. The trainers who come from outside are well equipped and I prefer them. There are arround 100 faculty members and the student count is arround 2000 so the ratio is 1 teacher for every 20 students. Which is quite less in terms of various reviews. Exams are held very often in this institute, and the level of exams is moderate. Studying one day before the exam is enough for getting the passing marks.

Internships Opportunities

2

Infosys provides training after your 3rd year through its exam infitq and students are selected on a merit basis. I don't have any idea regarding the stipend structure but what I was told by my seniors was that they don't get any stipend for their training but if you really excel in the training then you might get Pre-placement recruitment. For other companies, students need to apply for an off-campus internship.

Placement Experience

3

From the 6th semester students still in various exams conducted by various companies in the institution. Students from 4th year majorly opt for training in companies like Wipro, Infosys, etc. MNCs like Infosys, Wipro, tcs approach the college for college recruitments and for other big MNCs you need to go for an off-campus placement. Previous years record conveys that Infosys recruits the majority of the students on an average package of 3 or 3 lakh 20 thousand. And highest package is received by power programmers of 8 to 12 lakhs depending on the skills. College claims 60 to 80 percent of placements but the records say something different. I'm willing to go for government job after getting the degree because if it doesn't work I have a secure degree and therefore can go for jobs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are a little bit on the costlier side. And after every financial year, the fees is increased by a decent amount so it gets a little tough for a middle-class family to manage. It's my 2nd year coming to an end and I have observed that after every year arround three to five thousand rupees is increased in the fees. Per semester it costs arround 80000-90000 including the exam fees. College also charges arround 10000 rupees in the name of aktu examination fees. College provides no scholarships for economically weaker sections. They claim that they give scholarships on a merit basis but I haven't seen anyone getting it. Students can apply for government scholarships and if they are nongeneral candidates then there is a high probability of getting it. I haven't got any internship opportunities till now and I'm for one.

Campus Life

3

The college has a decent infrastructure. There are various clubs and groups in the college to showcase your talents such as music band group, drama group, English debate, and discussion group. Ignitia is the event which is organized in the month of April may by the college but from the past 2 years it is not conducted due to the pandemic.(including this year) College claims that it has various tech fests, various events but I haven't witnessed one.(may be because of the pandemic) College lags behind in terms of sports there are no facilities for a student willing to make a career in sports. I haven't seen any faculty motivating students to indulge themselves in sports. Various groups are made which conduct various coding exams on haker rank.

Other Applied Colleges

Yes I had applied for chandigarh university. | Btech

I was not convinced with its placement structure.

The students have to go to the main campus for placement drive and around 10% students appearing in drives get placed instantly the rest have to wait or settle for less. I also plan to get placement after degree

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is very good in this college. In my own CSE branch there is good placement package you can get. But in this year due to recession the placements is less in IT section but still placement is going on and top package has crossed 35LPA. During previous years top package was around 44LPA and average was 10-12 LPA . Also in other branches like Chemical engineering and mechanical engineering, the placement is at its best of 100% always.
