Course Curriculum Overview
The BTech Computer Science course provided a lot of knowledge and were technology-based. I chose this course because it offered extra knowledge in maths, chemistry, physics, and computer science. The sources I gained from BTech Computer Science can help me in the future, providing a good job in the IT sector. I chose BTech Computer Science because there is a high demand for computers in every industry these days. ..also it could give my future and career a good shape and growth Although the curriculum provided by the university is good in itself, I think that if we look at areas for improvement, we should reduce academic pressure a bit. We should remove irrelevant subjects that are not useful in our work, which we basically learned in 11th and 12th standards. Along with this, we should include new practical theories related to the latest technologies
Internships Opportunities
In the B.Tech course, we had to work on a project every semester, based on the research and studies we had done in the past two semesters. Our college also provided internship opportunities, for which there was a separate group and faculty. Students who were serious about internships were selected and received a stipend of around ?1000-?6,000. Internship opportunities were available both within and outside the city. However, out-of-town internships were more expensive, while in-town internships could be completed within the stipend or with minimal additional expenses.
Placement Experience
Our college has had a good placement record for a long time. Many companies offer students good packages, but for that, you need to have good grades and a strong academic record. Companies that visited my college, PSIT, included Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and IBM. They offered good packages to students. In fact, a recent newspaper article mentioned that the highest package offered at PSIT was ?30 lakhs Recently, I got placed in a tech company in Noida, and my future plans are to settle abroad and work in a multinational IT company. That's it.
Fees and Financial Aid
In PSIT when i was a student my year wise fees is 1 lakh 77 thousand including all the extraa fees ( tution + lab+ sports fees) regestration fees was of 7000 as per AKTU guideelines Also we have to pay 2500 per year as a examination fees. Sc/st have some relaxation in tution and other fees. One of my friend persuing BCA from the same college his yearly fees was 1 lakh that time for BCA course. Scholarship are available for btech students that is provided through aktu university itself just you need to be updated on university site.
Campus Life
Overall, my college experience was very good. Unlike school days, when I couldn't roam around much, in college, I would enjoy myself thoroughly from morning to evening. I made many good friends and, of course, some enemies too. Nevertheless, my college experience was a complete mix of good and bad, but overall, it was very memorable. Our college used to organize freshers' parties and many annual fests. Special guests, including the city commissioner, would be invited. I mean, elaborate arrangements were made for the annual fest. The college infrastructure was very good, as I mentioned earlier. The campus was huge, with modern technologies, air-conditioned classrooms, and CCTV cameras. The computer labs had high-quality computers. The libraries had a vast collection of books, and you could find almost any book you were looking for.
Admission
I chose this college because PSIT had been consistently delivering excellent results for a long time, and its placements had been very good. I had also heard from people that if you want good placement, knowledge, or education, you should go to PSIT. Many well-known people around me, whose children were settled in good places, were all pass-outs from PSIT. Since PSIT was the top college in Kanpur, I chose it. Yes, its fees are a bit expensive compared to other colleges, but it provides good education and placement The admission process at my college is very simple. To get admission, you should have scored at least 75% in 12th standard, but even if you haven't, it's not a problem. You just need to have passed 12th standard with at least 60%. Additionally, if you want to pursue B.Tech, you must have taken PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) in 12th standard. To apply, you need to visit the college directly and go to the admission cell, where you'll be given a registration form for free. If you're interested in joining the college, the further process will begin, which will include fees and other charges "When the number of seats is high, there is a specific interview round test for admission, where only the selected students are given admission. Normally, they ask basic questions from your 12th standard syllabus, and there's a normal conversation. They ask questions related to the course you're taking, like why you're taking it, what are your future expectations, and so on.
Faculty
All an average around 1 faculty is assigned over 26-30 students. Our faculty members were excellent and have there best experience in related fields. Faculties are approchable only if you insist them twice or you have a valid problems or reason but you can frequently visit your head teacher at any time. Abhay tripathi sir is the faculty i really dont like because he is so rude and arrogant towards student while Somanath das sir is very cooperative and humble towards students. In my course there are relatively 2 exams conducted yearly semester wise as per aktu university guidelines. Particularly around 30% students fail to clear the exam because of academic pressure.
Interview Experience
For the admission process in PSIT College, I had to go through a normal interview. It was a one-on-one conversation with a faculty member. They asked me basic questions related to my 12th standard curriculum, nothing too complex or high-level. It wasn't a very formal or intense interview. Even if your communication skills aren't perfect, you can still do well in a normal interview that focuses on personal interaction. The frequent questions sir asked me were to introduce myself, what I like and dislike, my habits and dislikes, etc.
Night Life
I wasn't a hostel student, but talking about nightlife, I had many friends living in the campus hostel. Everything would shut down by around 10 pm. There were separate hostels for faculty and students, including girls' hostels. During festivals, students living in the hostel would often go back home, and special arrangements were made for those who stayed back. There was a group that took care of them.
