HBTU review from a Ist year student.

Overall the syllabus and course is good. It is regarding the latest trends and like the most of the universities. As i am in my first year, i can't say of all the subjecte but what i studied were good. Some subjects like professional communication teaches you real professional life, the real way of living in professional life. And other subjects like physics, introduction to electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, Electronics engineering, chemical engineering, civin engineering, Engineering maths are well engaging and comprehensive.

The campus placement is very good in this college. In my own CSE branch there is good placement package you can get. But in this year due to recession the placements is less in IT section but still placement is going on and top package has crossed 35LPA. During previous years top package was around 44LPA and average was 10-12 LPA . Also in other branches like Chemical engineering and mechanical engineering, the placement is at its best of 100% always.

The fee is stable. Your academic fee will be 1,35,000 including your all fee of sports, gymnasium, exmanination fee, and every other fee excluding your hostel and mess fee. The hostel fee you have to pay is 25000 and mess fee of 36000 annually.

The campus life is overall interesting and enjoyable . Different clubs performing different fests and orientation will win your heart. There are different clubs for different hobbies/skills like singing, dancing, debates, speech, sports. Also there are techincal sub councils for skills like coding, robotics etc. Hostel life is above all, the enjoyment you can get is above all , the fun with friends is above all.

Hostel accomodation is good but there are two campus of college one is where college is and other is few kilometres away from it. The west campus students away from college campus face difficulty in travelling to college campus and also the transportation charge will be of yours. Mess is OK-OK. Meal quality will be good also there will be special meal for2-3 days in week. But as i said west campus students face difficulty in food also. For west campus students, there will be no afternoon lunch as they will be in college and cannot go to their hostel in west campuses. Also there are PG availabilities at genuine price near the college.

The admission process was clear, like there is different different criteria for elegibility of different courses. You can check eleigibility criteria from the official hbtu website. Infact there are varities of branch or specialization you can get in this college. There are 13 branches including core and technological branches. Also there is branch upgradation oppurtunies available in first year.

I dont say that all the faculty members are not good or not cooperative. But few faculty members you get in second semester will really destroy your mental health. In the first semester the faculty was good both at teaching an interacting, their way of teaching and interacting with students was very good and even the subjects were easier in first semester. But in second semester niether the faculty was good at teaching nor at interacting. The subjects are not that tough but the faculty made them tough. They made them difficult to pass. Infact the whole faculty of college is well educated from reputed IIT's, NIT's.
