Course Curriculum Overview

4

The chemical engineering course here is the most developed and reputated since this college is know for Chemical Engineering. The curriculum is made as per the requirement of the industry and they do co-curricular acitivites like submits and other things so that companies continuously engages with the college and provide what the latest tech is coming in the industry so that students can be well prepared for it. The classes start from 10 am and ends till 5 pm so this given students ample time for learning and figuring out there interest. Some improvements are maybe using more interactive methods like projects and videos for more deep understanding of the subject. The exams and quizes are nearly every month so students are constantly tested for them to improve.

Placement Experience

3

There are 8 semester and people become eligible from 7th semester for campus placements i.e beginning of the final fourth year of your college . The famous companies that visit are : Chemical : Exonmobill , Aarti Industries , Reliance , IOC , ONGC etc. CSE & IT : InMobi , Sigmoid , Samsung , TCS , IBM etc. Mechanical : JSW , Honda , Mahindra , Tata , Hero , TVS etc. Electronics & Electrical : Siemens etc. Food Technology : Nestle , HUL , Haldiram etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual academic's total fees is 1,35,000 excluding hostel fees . This 1,35,00 includes the one time fees of 2500 and Caution fees of 5000 which is refundable . The registration fees for the counselling is given in through the official website of HBTU e-counselling which is 2500 . The tuition fees is 75,000 while the others like development fess , lab fees and other charges are clubed into Other changes catergory and is 52,500. This fees is non-increasing i.e it remains same for the fours years. The Tuition fees are exempted for the SC/ST category and only hostel charges are needed. Many scholarships are provided like UP Government's scholarship which is for people with income less than 2,00,000 (2 lakhs) and provides nearly 5 lakhs i.e equal to the total 4 years academic fees. Other scholarships are private like Reliance Scholarship but these type of scholarships requires passing their exam.

Campus Life

4

The annual and technical festivals include : Technical Fests : Techkriti, Technika ( April) Sports Fest : Aagaaz (March) Cultural Fest: Adhyay (March) These fest are at a good level and can be compared to NITs . The library is called Tagore Central Library and has a collection of more than 1 lakh books and ample copies of each so that there is no shortage . Daily magazines , journals etc. are also available. The facilites include white and black boards and smart boards in some classes and a Lecture Hall Complex for the first years students while from second year the students are taught in their respective deparment buildings. The sports acitives are not that developed currently and are under construction or simply lack amenities. There are mainly 9 subcouncils: 1. Technical Sub-Council (Tarang) 2. Yoga Sub-Council 3. Cultural Sub-Council 4. Literary Sub-Council 5. NSS Sub-Council 6. Photography Sub-Council 7.Sports Sub-Council 8.Print & Social Media Sub-Council 9. Hobby Sub-Council (Grovv , Octave) These councils are very active and regulary organise events to keep the students engaged .

Hostel Facilities

4

The Hostel in the first years are Ramanujam and Sri Dharacharya which are 3 bed shared and 1 bed rooms with switches , fans and tubelights given. Every room has windows and each corner is given a toilet + bathroom thus 8 in total . There are nearly 220 students each in both hostels . The mess is run by the students who decides the menu along with the mess workers. The mess meal quality is average (OK) and menu changes nearly in 2 months but potates remain the main ingredient in every dish . The Registration process is simple and done throught Google Form along with 27000 hostel fees while nealry 36000 mesh fees which if affordable for most of the people . The locally is nearly a crowded unorganized habitation so rent is not very high is competiitve with the hostel fees so many do prefer to rent a room or PG .

Admission

The other colleges which i applied to were IET Lucknow , IIIT Una , IIIT Dharwad and other lower IIITs . I choose over those since this colleges reputation and placements spoke for itself they had a very good track record regarding this course and many famous companies have been coming here repeatedly. The admission in this college is through HBTU e-counselling site which is a standalone website managed by HBTU itself . It has a registration fees of 2500 rupees is non refundable . There you fill your choice of courses . The branch is alloted according to your JEE MAINS rank and your preference list . After the seat allotment letter you have to visit college and there you will have to submit your documents then you will be given a provisional admission letter and you are given a choice to upgrade your branch to the courses you have selected in your preference list. The admission in this college for UG is given through only JEE MAINS for engineering and all other branches leaving Biotechonlogy and Biochemical where you can get admission through CUET.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is nearly 1:75 or 1:80 .Most of the faculty memebers are nice and knowledgable and are student friendly. Some uses questions to explain the topics and show all its variations so that no topic is left untaught. They even give few marks in the internal to make up a higher pointer if the student is lacking by 3-4 numbers. Some faculties are not so nice and they tend to give less marks , very few don't even come to most of the class. BBS is the most infamous of all for not giving marks even if you write enough in the exam. The college semester comprises of 3 main exams: 1st Mid Sem , 2nd Mid Sem and End Semester exam. Mid Semester exams are of 15 marks each and thus totally in the whole result contribute to the 30 out of 100 . The End Semester is of 50 marks . The Internals which include 10 marks of teacher assesment and 5 marks for attendance and 5 for assignments. The pointer system is used and that is multiplied by the subject's credits and divided by the total credits to form the CGPA . The exams are mostly from the class and moderate level some questions are hard , most can be done using the PYQs. 4-5 students only tend to fail to clear the exams. The course is similar to what they teach in NITs .

Night Life

3

There are three canteens/cafeterias in the college which are mainly the sites for hangout where you can get food for moderate price . The library is another place for meeting people , it has a card for entry and exit and is open generally till 8 pm. The East campus is the main college premise which has 1st years boys hostel and all the girls hostel . it has a timing of entry of 11 pm for vehicles. While for the 1st year hostel its 9 pm for gate closing but opens whenever needed while the girls hostel is near the library and has timing of 7:30 closing for 1st year students while 8:30 for other 3 years. The West campus has the 2nd , 3rd and 4th year , MCA students hostel which have nearly no restrictions. The most famous hangout place is the main bulidng front gardens , open stage and the centenary pillar where people take photos ,each lunch , hangout and rest in the garden. The other places to roam is the CSA University and the Company Bagh Garden .

The influence is obviously job opportunities in future. I would say that you have to learn alot of skills on your own as well for real World applications and further academic pursuits as the college does provide labs etc. but the course structure is kinda old. So yeah you have to learn alot of skills to become a job ready engineer.
