Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum of Ai and Ml was appealing to me so i opted for the course and the curriculum is good for real world and placement based interview material and questions. But it doesn't keep up with Hackathons, real life skills such as web dev, dsa etc. The subjects such as Dsa and Daa are very brief in terms of real world applications. The teaching methods and the curriculum can be improved to add useful skills. The exams happen once a month and the end sems happen after a brief break of 7-10 days after completion of 2nd internals. The exams are moderately easy to crack .

Placement Experience

2

Students become eligible for placements from 6th sem onwards. Many companies visit , the major being Tcs, oracle, and others. The students have to go to the main campus for placement drive and around 10% students appearing in drives get placed instantly the rest have to wait or settle for less. I also plan to get placement after degree

Fees and Financial Aid

I pay yearly 3 lakhs which is paid annualy. All 3 lakh at once before tge starting of the semester. They do not provide breakdown of fees just 3 lakh. In the first sem we paid 310000 as a part of security. The fees has not increased for our batch but for the new batches it has increased to 350000.

Campus Life

3

The campus life experience isn't great. The annual fests held are only tech fest Innovate which is also cancelled some years and its not that great of a fest. The clubs are also boring, only the tech clubs provide any real value to student life, rest are just there for the sake of existing except some such as fashion club, music club etc. The Rubaroo cultural fest is held once in 4 years and that too is boring and they bring very mid artists . The library is great, many books and e books and journals are available. The library is a great help. The clasrooms are Air conditioned and have smart boards as well as projectors. So they are decent. They also have biometric attendance authentication system but nobody uses it. Sports facilities are decent but not that great. An annual sports meet Khel is organised in which various sports are included. The clubs are mostly a waste of tine with exceptions to some

Admission

I appliee for Chandigarh University and Kiet and Various colleges througg cuet but i could not find my preferred course through cuet so i opted out of those. At cu i got confirmed admission but i didn't choseit as i was inclined towards Srm being affiliated to top level university. I gave srm jee 3 rd phase and i got 4000 rank but i didn't go to ktr cause of distance and more coat so i had to chose srm and i chose the nearest branch. The cutoff in Srm ghaziabad is 65% in pcm boards but u can get a direct admission nonetheless. They are money oriented

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio us around 100:1 . The faculties are somewhat approachable. The faculties i liked was my Os teacher, he was very lenient and helpful. Also the best faculty of them all is the maths Professor Dr RK Verma, very approachable and helpful. Also great teacher. There was a 3 internals and 1 end sem system but its now replaced by 2 internals and 1 end sem. The first internals are of 2 units (50 marks) and they are reduced to 15 marks. The second internals consist if 3 units ( 60 marks) which are also reduced to 15 marks and the next 30 marks are uploaded based on project work, assignment, test etc. The end of sem of the 75 marks are reduced to 40 marks making if a total of 100 marks and the final marks out oc 100 result in a grade through which cgpa is calculated and each subject has different The course curriculum consits of around 15 credits total subjects each sem. The exams are somewhat based on prev year so they are easy to crack but very few students get back in exam

Night Life

3

I am a day scholar so i dont know much but most students of hostel mostly go to rest or play sport outdoors, the indoor facilities are closed. The library also closes after college timings. The gym is available but its condition is not good. Just decent. The in timings of hostel are around 10 pm at night. The locality around the college is a highway so its not that safe but it doesn't have any good hangout spots. Good spots are around 5-10 kms away from college

Other Applied Colleges

Chandigarh University - [CU] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Cause i wanted to go for Aiml, the fees was low in Cu and i was even getting a scholarship but Srm was affiliated to the Srm University in Ktr, so i opted for Srm

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course structure is good of btech but there there is only thing I don't like is that in btech course the subjects in first year are not related to career of students because there is physics, chemistry other irrelevant subjects present in first year but in second year the course become interesting and relevant. Curriculum is good and prepare well for real world applications. The exams comes frequently every month there is a class test but class tests are moderate on the basis of there difficulty level.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placements in the final year. The college offers basic placement training and assistance. Some local and local-level comanies even visit for campus recruitment with average offers. Average package: 2-4 LPA, highest around 9-10 LPA 60-90 percent students get placed. My plan is to develop my skills and attain a good job or go for higher studies after degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

course curriculum is little bit out-dated, and improvements are needed in terms of syllabus. timing of exams are ok ok. so many assignments are given which is really hectic because their are deadlines to upload those assignments in google classroom. and one thing i hate about college is 75% attendence is must. due to this we do not get much time for our personal development.
