Remarks

Good Aspects- Though it is a Government College cut-offs are quite low. College is not much far away from city. Room and mess expenditure is the lowest as compared all other cities. No ragging at all. Most of the expenditures like industrial visit , nptel courses fee, Internship stay etc is paid by the College for you ( since there are some schemes of Government). Most of the students are from rural background, so everyone is humble and very friendly nature. Wi-fi Connection in hostel and College. Bad Aspects- Clearly speaking, GCOEJ is not prefered by big companies to visit for campus placement , not because of the quality of students, but because the city is not so renowned and nor the college. Although some companies like BOCSH, HITACHI, LIGRAND, Jain Irrigation hire the students giving 15k to 20k salary pm. Infrastructure is not upto the mark. Labs are not very well developed. College is alloted in the DTE rounds so you to go through the procedure of DTE website. Once you are alloted this college, admissions generally start in the month of JULY. The admission process is undoubtly hectic and tiresome, and same is the case for all colleges including IITs. All the documents should be perfect, should have bunch of xeroxes of all original documents, payment of full fee at the time of admission is compulsory and it should be done by Challan ( the bank is located near the college itself ) Payment by cash may be allowed only if all other options are closed. Reason for choosing this college most importantly is - admission fee is low by 20k to 25k as compared to private institutes. If you are from weak financial background and belong to category, you would require much lesser amount of money throughout the college life.( Remember if you belong to category like OBC don't put TFWS option for any Government Colleges since it will require more fee than category fee. While opposite is the case for private institutes). Also TAG of being from Government College somehow gives you egde over others in company interviews.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course Curriculum is really very poor. The Syllabus designed is not revised from many years.Academics- Each branch has different scene alltogether. I am from Electrical Department- though our professors were very well qualified but none of them were willing to share knowledge ( as expected from a Government servants ) But there were some professors from other departments who very quite well and helpful. Overall- student has to learn by own. And this can be seen as a freedom to learn from internet as we know that we are not going to get much from professors. Since College is Autonomous, papers are designed by your own teachers and you get notes by the teacher, so passing the exams is not a big issue here. Although there are two subjects in the first year- Engineering Graphics and Mechanics students are very afraid of, but by learning from youtube and practising for some time will make these subjects easy.

Internships Opportunities

3

I have done Internship in local MIDC company. You can do Internship at a place of your choice .Also if you do Internship , and you need to rent a room and travel by bus or auto. All the fare is taken care by college provided you submit all the required documents.

Placement Experience

2

Not much companies visit campus for placement, only few local companies like BOSCH, HITACHI, LIGRAND , Jain Irrigation recruit some students on pay scale of 15k to 20k . College provides placement drives at some other colleges like GCOEA for placement in companies like ADANI etc. Students also get placed in companies like TCS, Accenture, Infosys, Capgemini etc with the help of college and their own efforts. Salaries vary from 3LPA to 6LPA. Most of the students go for GATE examination for better future, and College provides classes by private coaching classes in the campus itself. All the fees of coaching is paid by college which is very good point. ( almost 50k fee of coaching classes is saved ).Since the awareness among students is increasing due to Internet, everyone somehow finds a way to get placed off campus. Also College is trying its level best to make students skillfull and ready for placement. Progress is increasing year by year.

College Events

Since all the students are from rural background and from farmer family, they are very friendly and supportive. Seniors are very helpful. College clubs are also formed like photography club. Events like- Technoarena, jallosh, Sportsweek are held in the college joyfully. Most eye catching event is the ' Shiv Jayanti '. All the departments are under the same building. Only Civil Department as separate building. There is a good Library and a study hall where students study for late night and it is very good because it has high speed wi-fi connection. There are two Government Hostels and a descent playground infront of it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is lesser by 20k to 25k as compared to private institutes.Mahadbt scholarships are alloted to category students. Freeship scheme for open category. Also Swadhar Yojna is given to SC candidates. Not much companies visit in campus for placements, but college arranges placement drives in some other bigger colleges like GCOEA. Also there is a Placement Cell in College , they inform students about ongoing JOB recruitments by companies like TCS, Accentur, Wipro etc where students can apply online and get selected. But yes College Placement Cell Members are constantly looking for jobs so that most of the students get placed.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There two Government hostels for boys and a girls hostel in the campus itself. Hostel is alloted on merit basis , it means few top students are eligible to take seat in hostel. Rest of the students have to live in rooms outside the campus. Wifi connection is present in every wing of the hostel but the ones having rooms far away from the router have weak wifi connection but they can avail it by sitting outside of the room. Cleanliness is not so good since students do not follow the atticates and also supervision by authority is poor. But yes most importantly, hostel life is full of fun and at very low cost. Mess is not included in hostel, you have to opt for private mess outside the campus.

Placement cell is quite good. Students are eligible for placement in their last semester of course. There are many great companies that come like JP MORGAN, EY, KPMG. Average package of the college is 5-6 lacs but there are high packages according to the skills of the student. I'd like to go for master's after BMS. Different kind of roles are there for students to apply according to their interests in all the fields like finance, marketing, HR, consulting. There is training provided by the college for placemens and there is personal training for individual company interviews if required by students.
