Likes
- Best located college as it is near to the sea and Juhu Beach is just at walking distance from our college.
- Mithibai and some other colleges are Crossroads and therefore young college students is what we are surrounded by all throughout day.
- We have best in class college building which is centrally air-conditioned.
Dislikes
- All three that is engineering, law and management college is in same building and therefore it gets too crowded during lunch breaks.
- Intenrships are provided mostly in Mumbai while the hun for law is Delhi.
Course Curriculum Overview
NMIMS was a dream college and black court was a dream outfit and therefore I chose law as my career option. Our course gives us various directions and all suites of law especially corporate law. Like my field though is litigation and we are taught appropriately for that as well.
Internships Opportunities
It's mostly the corporate houses whose legal teams are ones who provide us intenrships. Mumbai High Court lawyers too have tie-ups with our college and top students of the college also get intenrships in elite law firms too.
Placement Experience
Tata Group, Reliance Group, Aditya Birla Group and some other niche names from corporate are the ones who come for placements at law college. Since every year 300 students pass out and 150-175 of them get jobs from the college placement and the average salary offered is around 6-7 lakhs. Highest though last year was of 20LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Kirit P Mehta NMIMS School of Law is definitely the best law college in Mumbai. The fees was 2.5 lakhs initially but coming to the final year it is now 4 lakhs a year. Not many scholarship as NMIMS being a private college and therefore 90% of the students mostly pay the same fees and around 10% people are those who have availed some form of scholarship.
Campus Life
Though the new building is not fully ready and therefore our classes are held in Old MK Patel Building. The building is equipped for law as there's a huge moot court and a library too. There are two canteens and both of them are amazing. There are some azaminf committees like the MUN, The Moot Court Committee and also special kids cell helpline cell as well.
Admission
I applied at NLU but only the top ones were my choice and beyond that it was a tossup between SLS Pune and NMIMS Mumbai. SLS Pune may be superior in rankings but definitely NMIMS being in Mumbai has certain advantages. The high court is here and major courts of the state are here and that was the main reason of choosing NMIMS Mumbai.
Faculty
At NMIMS Law School faculties are like plenty and plenty because a total of 1200+ studnets are studying law here and nearly 50+ teachers are there to look after. Also, many guest faculties are invited daily or rather weekly. From the permanent faculties that we have Profesor Jeetal Rawal is my favourite since 1st year.
Night Life
Both Versova and Juhu Beaches are nearby. Besides that there are many places like Chai & Games. PVR Multiplex and Culture CAfe in Prithvi Theatre Cafe. Also, Vile Parle Station is not far and now metro too is coming, so everything will be sorted within our college vicinity.
