Remarks

This college has one of the most amazing and friendly facilities and amazing alumni. The education you get from this College is life-enriching. All the staffs are genuinely good. Our Principal Mr.Pushpita Ranjan is a gem, he is my guardian angel and an amazing individual. You can reach out to him whenever you feel like. All our professors were friendly and full of life. They were always very cooperative. I joined the college in 2018, had to give an interview. The interview was of a question-answer round. They do require the mark sheet unlike other private colleges of Kolkata. Before the interview, one needs to fill up their online form. Frankly speaking, there were other private colleges too in Kolkata, but Heritage Group of Institutions precisely The Heritage College is the best than the rest, there are no restrictions regarding ‘class’. They don’t have party politics at all, we have one of the biggest infrastructures too in Kolkata and not to mention the quality education.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I was always good at English Literature and I always wanted to pursue this in my career so I took this course. The College has streams such as BA, BCOM, and BSC where the student-faculty ratio would be 5:10. One can easily get help from the faculties easily as they are very cooperative. The Faculties are extremely cooperative and they have knowledge about everything, our Board only gets us the faculties who are exceptionally good both in their academic career as well as in their real lives. The teaching method is quite advanced with regular dictation of notes, face-to-face conversations, to-do tasks, and homework. As I am from the CBCS batch, so we had 2 semesters each year and before that, there used to be 2 Internals, and the Internals were exactly the same as of the Calcutta University, mostly we used to get the same questions in the main exams too, all thanks to our professors.

Placement Experience

5

From the 5th Semester, students will be eligible for campus placements. Till now we got three Campus Recruitments by Wipro, Amazon, and Capgemini. There are other placements too. One might consult the In-campus Career Counsellor for suitable jobs in the future. Moreover, the professors were always ready to help us giving the leads of other job placements as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee was 28,500 for each semester. There were no hikes or any hidden fees. The college does provide us with online campusing since the Pandemic is going on. We are getting placements by Amazon, Wipro and Capgemini, etc

Campus Life

5

We are a part of The Heritage Group of Institutions so we had in- campus fests going on now and then. But we have ( drum-rolls) one of the best fests of Kolkata- Epignosis, Eclecia , Heritage Utsav and Euthopia. I never faced any bullies or ragging neither in our classroom nor in the campus as we have an anti-ragging zone. Moreover, all the students were very friendly. We have NSS, Poetry Club, Football Club, Cricket Club, Dance and Singing Club and not to forget the Fashion Club where i was the member.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My passion and a bit of curiosity in International Relations led me to choose this course. The curriculum, in fact, prepared me well for further academic pursuits. For improvement, educational excursions and internship opportunities should be made available. The exam is held twice a year on semester basis, with papers set at a moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

There are limited on campus placement opportunities here, especially for Arts and Eng Hons students. Most students focus on higher studies, competitive exams or off campus opportunities after graduation. The college provides basic guidance through teachers but formal placement drives are rare.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum provides a comprehensive retrospective of literature from the Old English period to Modern period, while also including English works by Indian authors to demonstrate the diversity and evolution of English literature over the years. The current curriculum I believe requires more seminars and lectures from guest faculties on contemporary research and topics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love to read English and it's easy for me so that's why I choose it. There are a total of 50 students in this course. Our teachers are very helpful and talented and also support us. We have 2 semesters after 6 months in 1 year. Exams are comfortable for the students who study the subject. It is difficult for those who do not study.
