Remarks

Sometimes college management are very irresponsible at the time of placements and there is some college politics like every college.

Entrance Preview

I took WBJEE and secured 7400 rank . As i wanted to opt for Mechanical Engineering and Asansol Engineering College was at the top in private colleges for Mechanical Engineering so opted for it.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Good lab facilities are available in the college but its not upto the mark of Research standards.Metal Workshop is one of the largest one of West Bengal colleges and 5-6 lathe manual machines and CNC lathes are available. Course structure are as prescribed by the university rules and the main papers are same as taught in top engineering colleges of India.

Internships Opportunities

College can arrange internship in different companies but maximum of them do not give stipend for the internship. Some of the companies are Indian Railways ,SAIL,Shyam Steel etc.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements for It,Computer Science and Electronics Departments are very good. It's approximately 80% placements in these branches. But coming to the core branches like Mechanical,Electrical and Civil placement comes down to 30%. Major companies are TCS,MindTree,Mphasis and many more.

College Events

2.5

Technical and cultural fests took place very year with different technical events as well as cultural events. Technical events included computer programming competition in the field of information technology and robotic wars.Gaming contests were also there like paint ball and counter strike ( one of the games played by most of the engineering students of every college in India ). Even sarswati puja and vishwakarma puja were celebrated every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee dtructure is feasible and very less as compared to private colleges of India. The fees for all eight semesters i.e four years was approximately 3 lakhs rupees and after including hostel fees with fooding and lodging it would be ( 3lakh + 1.6 lakhs ).

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship facilities were offered by the college but there was a scheme by the techniczl university of West Bengal named as TFW scheme in which students had to pay 2000-4000 per semester. For the loan facilities students need to arrange on their own.

Campus Life

3

The college campus is of 19 acres and is situated in the outskirts of the city which makes the campus and areas around it less noisy . Gender ratio in every department was okay except the core branches Mechanical, Electrical and Civil sports facilities are for cricket, football, badminton and basketball. There is a gym for boys inside the college campus.Competitions like robotics takes place at the time of college fests in the month of March or April every year.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels rooms were shared by two students. They were not much spacious but not too congested . Mess food of the hostel for first year was not good but after that for three years it was maintained by the seniors so it was good. Yes hostel seats were few and some of the students had to take a PG out of the hostel in which room rents ranged from 800-1500 per months plus 1200-2000 fooding per month. PG facilities are available in huge numbers around the college.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are really helpful for everything be it academics, competitions or recruitment information. They behave like friends there is no difference between us and them.

Exam Structure

Exams and labs were neither very frequent nor it was like chilled out. It was well balanced , had labs everyday one or two classes and theory classes approximately 4-5 classes. The time for the classess were around 5-6 hours a day with a break of 50 minutes for lunch.

Faculty

3.5

Senior faculties are available for maximum subjects taught in all the eight semesters and they have an experience of atleast 10 years . The lab incharges are also well qualified and experienced . Some young faculty members are very friendly and are easily approachable anytime.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

Placement Experience:

The senario of placement in all of the private colleges of West Bengal are more or less the same. Majority of the students are placed in Service Based Companies like TCS, Wirpo, Infosys, HCL, Accenture, Cognizent, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, etc. These companies offer anywhere from 3.6 to 6 lpa packages. Only a handful of Product based companies come in these private colleges and cherry pick 2-3 student per college only. This is the reality of all the private colleges, not just our college. If you want to crack a high paying job, you will have to do it off campus. The students are eligible for internships from the 6th semester itself. The college does try to provide internship to students but only a few students end up getting the internships and most students need to find internships on their own. Some companies which came in 24-25 session which offered an internship and PPO are Amazon, SAP Labs, Accenture, etc. For a detailed placement stat, go to our college's website and look for training and placement stats. The college is honest in putting these stats. The stats are mostly reliable. The highest off campus placement in 24-25 session was by Snehadeep De, who secured a SDE role in Amazon with 47 lpa CTC. This was off campus so the college had no role to play here. The highest on campus placement was by two students in the company Juspay. They were offered the SDE role for 27 lpa CTC. The average placement of all the CS branches will be around 5-6 lpa. And approximately around 60-65% of the students get placed. This is the ground reality. And its the same in all of the WB private colleges. If you want to keep a backup option in case you don't want to get a 3.6 lpa job then start preparing for GATE, CAT or Civil Services from your second year. Its always preferred to have a backup option cause you can't trust a private college for providing you jobs.

Placement Experience:

The minimum placement opportunities of our college is good . If you are in good in aptitude, Group discussions and your CV and technical skills are strong then you can easily crack a 7-10lpa job from our college. Overall our college provides decent opportunities for our placements but you need to maintain certain GPA to sit on those placements

After the 6th semester we are eligible for the internship, also we can apply for both on campus and off campus placements. In our college some companies like Geotech, Infosys, Code Clouds, Unibit solutions visit every year. Average package is in the range of 3.5-5 Lakhs per annum and highest package is nearly 6-7Lpa. But post covid time our placement record decreased a bit. Nearly about 80-85% of CSE students get placed every year. Also I am currently appearing in interview of different companies for placement.
