Remarks

Student intake is increasing year by year girls are not allowed the same level of freedom as the boys do the management hears very little of the students everything is very speedy in VIT.

Entrance Preview

I took the VITEEE exam whose syllabus is the same as the 11th-12th CBSE. The exam is less difficult than JEE mains and a basic understanding of concepts helps you clear it my rank was 10000 and therefore I was lucky to get a seat in the counseling process.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is very practical oriented and less theory-oriented. Present batches follow the CAL syllabus and the CAL syllabus is prepared with the industry's help so as to prepare the workforce for 2020. This gives it an edge over other colleges and brings it at par with some of the premier colleges of India as in terms of syllabus a student is truly learning the advanced topics and is simply not mundane theory.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college does provide any internship. However many startups come from here and one can easily find something to grow here. Research is also very encouraged and one can stay during the holidays to do a research project here.

Placement Experience

4

Jobs are mainly for the manufacturing and the IT sector as Chennai and Banglore are very near to the campus and almost all the technology giants visit the campus. At the end of the day, all it depends on is your aptitude and your skill in the particular area and with the correct approach and hardworking you can get yourself a decent job of 8-10 lakhs CTC.

College Events

4

There are 2 fests that the college organized, one is for the technology that is the gravitas, and the VIT- RIVIERA is amongst the renowned fests of the country. 4 days of sheer fun. The best thing about VIT is their fests Riviera and Gravitas. If I am not wrong VIT's Riviera is listed among the top 10 fests in India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Earlier the fee structure was easier to understand but now they have made different slots. Last year there were 3 slots (A, B, and C). For slot A the yearly fees were around 1.6L for cse, ece, and mech and around 1.2L for other branches. Then there was slot B, I don't know the exact figures but they were about 1L higher than slot A and slot C was again 1L higher than slot B. Your slot will depend on your VITEEE rank. You need to get a good rank to be in slot A and frankly, if you are not getting CSE or IT(unless you are super interested in any other branch) in slot B or C, it's not worth your money.

Fees and Financial Aid

Financially weaker sections get 10000 rs per year top 10 rankers also get scholarship ranging from 10000 to 2000. The events organized by the chapters have prize money to be a tier 2 college it has good ties from banks and easy scholarships can be availed.

Campus Life

4.5

There are more than 100 plus chapters and clubs for extracurricular and almost all of them function with ease. The gender ratio is 1:5, for every 1 girl, there are 5 boys. some clubs are very good and are national-level performance-wise the infrastructure is also very good, the college also encourages sports very much and almost every sport can be played here.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The new blocks and are exceptionally good whereas all basic facilities are maintained in all hostels. There is various mess in the hostels and one has a wide variety of food to choose from. The food ranges from average to good and one can opt for various mess quite easily, You can also check for the cost on their websites. Girl's hostels are different and their standard of the facility is higher than that of boys.

Alumni/Alumna

VIT as alumni's association which is asked to give lectures to 4th years also the seniors are very helpful, there is no form of ragging in the institute and almost everyone is chilled out and no form of pressure or bully can be seen anywhere.

Exam Structure

Exams are taken basically into 3 ways, CAT 1 of 15%, CAT 2 of 15%, FAT of 40%, and digital assignments of 30% this all gives the theory component then we have the lab component in which lab exams are conducted twice a semester by the faculty which constitutes 40% of the total marks and the rest are given to the daily submission of the lab work.

Faculty

3.5

Almost all of the faculty has a doctorate in their respective fields. However, all of them are not up to the standards. Some are good at teaching, some are good at giving marks and some are very much involved in their work. One thing is assured that if a student wants to learn and if he is willing to seek guidance, plenty of it would be available to him at his disposable for his future growth.

In my college, on campus placement opportunitiesd for core biotechnology and life science fields were quite limited, While there were placement drives conducted during the final year, the majority of companies that visited were from IT, customer support, and non-core sectors, which weren't directly relevant to the field of biotechnology.
