Remarks

It is one of the premier institutes of the country with world-class infrastructure and facilities. It equally focuses on both academics and extracurricular activities like sports and cultural activities. There is immense competition and pressure to get here. I was admitted here after clearing the jee advanced examination on 27/09/2020 then I had to undergo the JOSAA counseling to get to this college and my branch. This was among the top colleges in the country and probably around the globe so it was a no-brainer to get here. Everyone talks of this college highly which motivated me to get here from a very young age.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am admitted to the branch of environmental sciences and engineering mainly taking into consideration the futuristic importance of this branch given the rising interest in the conservation of our beloved environment. Our branch is a small branch off around 37 Students and around 12 main faculties which makes the faculty: student ratio around 1:3. All the faculty members are mostly PhD doctorates in their respective subjects and have an excellent teaching method. First, they deeply explain the concepts and clear all our doubts and then make us practice several good problems. The exams are quite timely and can be easily done if all the lectures were attended sincerely and problems were practiced. Overall they are quite scoring

Internships Opportunities

4.5

A good variety of companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc offer internships both off-campus and on-campus where there are many assistant roles available to enhance our skills and get ready for future placements. We also get to do a variety of projects to enhance our skills

Placement Experience

4

The students are eligible from the 7th semester (4th year) and the internships are provided from the 4th semester (2nd year) onwards. A plethora of top-tier companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc visit the college and provide several good offers. The packages may go as high as 1crore and be at around 25-30 lakhs on average for top companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft. Around 80-90% of Students secure good placements (all students who secure >7 cpi get a placement). After securing the degree I wish to work for improving our environmental quality and make it accessible for everyone to live and prosper . I want to reduce the increasing environmental pollution as well

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of studying has been increasing over the years and it has increased in IIT Bombay as well. At present, it is around 2,00,000 per year. But there are several considerations for those who can't afford such a high amount like multiple scholarships and financial assistance by previous alumni apart from getting loans at a cheap rate. In this online semester, all needy students were provided with a laptop and a good internet connection as well. There is the job of a teaching assistant the person who goes over the problem solving of the various courses. Currently, I am not one but I do aspire to become one soon

Campus Life

5

The annual fest conducted in the Mood Indigo in December and the tech fest is conducted in January. The libraries are world-class with almost all the books and journals available there. The classroom is brilliant with a good smart class, great ventilation and a good atmosphere of studying. There are a plethora of sports and extracurricular activities conducted in the institute namely in the inter hostel and inter IIT GC(general championship) in March and April. There are multiple social groups, clubs, and websites in the institute some of them are rang and pixels(art and photography) and the aeromodelling club. Overall, the campus life is outstanding with great exposure and one of the prime reasons to get into IIT Bombay

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The rooms are quite nice especially in the fresher's hostel with good facilities like a study table and comfortable beds and attached bathrooms. There is a great variety of meals in the mess with different combinations available everyday there. The quality of the food is fine but the taste is not the greatest. We are provided a hostel as soon as we secure admission to the college which is quite affordable and there are considerations for those as well who can't afford the fees of the hostel. This is a great place to make friends for life.

Interview Experience

4

To get admitted into IITs we have to clear a couple of entrance examinations namely the jee mains and jee advanced. I began to prepare for them from the 11th standard itself as they are considered to be one of the toughest entrance exams in the country. I resorted to a good time table and regular studying to clear those exams. After clearing the exams I had to go through JOSAA counseling where we have to fill our desired institute and branch and we get them based on our branch and choice

Students are eligible to apply for placement is after 2 year or at 5th semester. And companies that have visited are Morgan Stanley, TCS, JP Morgan, etc. and many others. Basic package is about 7 lacs per annum which I consider as okay for freshers. And the student which got highest is 26 lac per annum as he was one of the brightest student of the college. I think 50 to 60 percent students get placed more or less maximum are low package students. My plans are different than doing job so not applied at any of the job.
