Remarks

I chose Shoolini University because its Biotechnology department was recommended to me by the reviews I saw on various websites, and also because of its location. The peaceful environment of Shoolini is very nice for students to get work done. The only bad aspect I would say is the distance from Solan town, as that makes it hard for students to get some items like daily medicines. My admission process was online as I'm an out of state student. The registration and admission processes were very easy and quick. I chose Shoolini University over others because my goal was to dedicatedly complete my bachelor's degree in a somewhat well known university before moving on to a better known institute for my master's. Shoolini University has provided me with all the resources I needed for the same, as I can study well without any distractions. I had checked out Shoolini University on various websites like CollegeDunia, Shiksha.com, Google Reviews etc. before making my decision.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose BSc in Biotechnology as my course because I had always been interested in Biotechnology as a subject and the BSc degree is considered good for those who want to go into research. The faculty: student ratio in my course is as expected from a university in India, we have a ratio of about 1:45 here in Shoolini. The faculty in the School of Biotechnology is very well qualified and as they are researchers themselves, they are very helpful to students who want to pursue research. The term exams are held timely at the end of each semester and the teachers complete the syllabus with time to spare for doubt clearance. I personally do not find the exams too difficult, as the teachers make sure to clarify all the concepts before the exam.

Placement Experience

4

The students become eligible for campus placement from their second to last semester. In my course, many well known companies like Cipla, Biocon and Serum Institute of India come to the university for placements. Of the students who appear in the placement interviews, about 60-80% get placed. The package provided is around 2.5-3.5 lakhs as per my knowledge. After getting my bachelor's degree, I have plans to enrol myself in a master's degree after which I shall get my PhD from a reputed institution.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure of my course is very affordable compared to other private universities in India. That was also one reason why I chose Shoolini University to study. I feel like the fees charged to students by the university is very justified considering the facilities available.

Campus Life

4

Shoolini University is very nice in terms of the events and fests they organise, and the students get a good chance to show off their skills or to be entertained by their peers in various art forms. The Yogananda Library of Shoolini University is one of the best in the country, with an ever increasing plethora of books, research journals, magazines etc. It is open 24x7 so no student has to face any difficulty in doing their work in peace. The classrooms at Shoolini are well equipped with enough seating, projectors, and whiteboards. There are a number of clubs at the university as well. They are headed by some talented faculty members and students. At the beginning of each academic year, there is a Club Mela where new students can take a look at the various clubs and choose which one they wanna join.

Hostel Facilities

4

I have chosen to reside in the girl's hostel of Shoolini University which is located inside the campus. It is very safe and well equipped with seating areas, large eating areas and even a cafe which is only available to the girls. The wardens are very good guardians to the students and help them with whatever they need. The food available at the hostel mess is very healthy and simple Indian vegetarian cuisine which changes throughout the week. The hostel registration process is included in the student registration during the admission process. The hostel fee is very affordable considering the facilities available. All the rooms have sufficient electric sockets, desks and storage. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are cleaned regularly. The included laundry service is very helpful for busy students.
