I cleared GATE 2011 exam and scored around (25.33/100) 88 percentile to get the admission for MTech (CSE) into this college. It was the first year that the college was granted Autonomous under RTMNU. I got to know that its the 2nd best college in Nagpur after VNIT with a great percentage of placements and the best crowd one could ever see, so I got admission in this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is really good. There were all advanced subjects like Advanced Computer Arch, Advanced Digital Img Processing, Software Arch, Real Time Operating Systems, Research Methodology, Graph Theory (elective), Pattern Recognition (elective), etc. The staff was very much prepared and had a thorough knowledge of the subjects they were allotted.
Internships Opportunities
The College has a well equipped Training and Placement Department led by Prof. Anupam Kher as the Dean of Training & Placement. The CS-IT branches are offered projects from various companies based on an interview and the CGPA but as far as the non-IT branches are concerned they don't have any exposure to internships during college.
Placement Experience
Record 1300+ offers for 750 Students. Highest Placements in Central India year after year. Highest ever number of DAY-1 selections(943 offers) in entire Western and Central India. 35 Students with package more than Rs. 8.0 lacs per annum. 98% of the eligible students placed through campus recruitment.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is bit expensive as it seems to the outside world but once you take a look at the amenities in college and the exposure you feel that its all worth it. We had to pay around 80000/- INR for each year in college.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have less information on this point as I never availed any scholarship while in college. For GATE qualified candidates though there was a stipend of 8000/- per month at that time. There was a facility of student loan though and also some scholarship to girl students also but not quite sure about this one.
Campus Life
Cultural Pratishruti is the main college fest which attracted people from the entire city. Sports League for all branches various Branch Installations happening every year. We had more number of boys as compared to girls, but the ratio was not that disproportionate.
Faculty
The staff was very much prepared and had a thorough knowledge of the subjects they were allotted. All the Professors were well educated with most of them enrolled for Ph.D. They had a good command over the subject and the language (ofcourse English). They were very much focused and updated with the latest technical skills. They were polite and always ready to answer/discuss the questions raised by the students.
