IIM Ranchi - A nest to every crow!

First of all, IIM Ranchi has consistently shown progress in its placement reports. After talking to seniors I got to know it is definitely the second home for students. It is also a student run campus and I have personally lived this experience throughout my first year. Although, they do not have a permanent campus which is a huge bummer the leased building for accommodation is really awesome. The admission process comprises of CAT, then a CAP interview and VIOLA... you're a crow of IIM Ranchi if shortlisted! Well, I did compare the reviews on various colleges over the internet and different sites as well as consulted alumni of all colleges I got accepted to. And compared the placement reports too. Every college has pros and cons, and I must say IIM Ranchi was the only one on my college list which had really many pros than cons. I used LinkedIn for networking with alumni, collegedunia, collegedekho, bird rannkings, college's own websites, campussutra, shiksha, pagalguy, and Quora.

MBA gives a candidate an overall development for being a future manager. The profs here are highly qualified professionals and pay personal attention to all attentive students. Even after being delayed by a month due to COVID, our batch is almost on time for our 3rd term exams and will begin 2nd year too on time. Well in MBA you can't take a break. There is an exam every month, I mean a term is of about 2.5-2 months and you have midterms too along with end terms and ongoing assignments on the side too. Online classes did make it difficult to learn but profs left no stones unturned to get us more involved in classes.

Well, a large variety of companies visit IIM Ranchi from the banking sector to consulting to IT to retail/fashion retail, manufacturing too. The stipend ranged from 3 lacs to 20k, depending on company and role.

First placement happens for summer internships which are rolling placement it starts off at the end of August right after you join. And second is the final placement, which commences near October or September for about a month or two. The average of last year final placements were about 15 LPA. IIM Ranchi offers 100% placements for final as well as summer placements. I would love to go into the Marketing field after my degree.

Well, the fee hike depends on the ministry of education and the total fee is 15,60,000. I didn't require any financial assistance as I had already taken a loan from SBI but many government scholarship schemes are available.

We have Agon-Rush a cultural and sports fest that is conducted on a national level, among colleges across India in the month of February. All the course books and reference books are available in the library, IIM Ranchi also has a subscription to international journals online. IIM Ranchi has facilities for a vast number of sports. Being a student run campus, IIM Ranchi has various clubs, committees and independent bodies.

Single occupancy rooms with a cupboard, study table chair are provided. The mess has various options for vegetarians as well as non vegetarians, and the menu is decided by a mess committee made of students. MBA is a fully residential course here. Hostel is compulsory, not optional.
