Entrance Preview

I have taken BITSAT to get a seat in BITS. I have scored 316 in the exam. It is INDIAs 1 private university. So I chose it.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course structure is pretty good. The lecturers even allow students to take part in their or other projects related to their field from the 3rd semester itself. The students intresterd in research are always encouraged. The lecturers are so supportive that you are even allowed to take part in projects along with students pursuing their masters.

Internships Opportunities

One the best things about our campus is that it provides with 2 internships. One after the 4th semester which is a summer internship of 2 1/2 months which has no stipend. This is just to expose the students to work culture. The 2nd is a 6 month internship which can be in 7th or 8th semester based on students choice. The stipend depends on the company and overall average would be 25k.

Placement Experience

4.5

Our campus has a placement division which makes sure the best companies reach our campus and the students go out of the college with flying colours. The placements takes place in the final year of the college where the companies would reach the campus. Most of the students are given a placement where they do their 6 month internship.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure here is pretty much feasible as of now. Even there is a bank which provides loan directly if students cannot afford it. But there can (will) be a increase of fee of 15% every year. So the fee becomes expensive over the course of time.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students who cant afford their fee can take loan from a nearby SBI banks which any student can get easily. The students are provided with good scholarship like merit scholarship, merit cum need scholarship and student aid fund.

Campus Life

5

Our campus have clubs like music club, dance club, literary club, photography club and many more. We also a student activity center where students can play all kinds of sports they are interested in. Every student gets an opportunity to show their talents in the fields they are interested in.

Exam Structure

We will be having 3 main tests of which 2 are like mid-term and the other is end-sem exam. Apart from these we will have assignments, surprise tests. We will be having 1-2 labs a week for the subjects where there is a lab. Being an electronics student I'd have 4 labs of 2 hours each per week on an average. Each lab session carries some marks.

Faculty

4

Most of the faculty are experienced. It is enough if you attend the classes of the lectures that you are in no need to study that hard to take your examinations. The faculty is so co-operative that you can approach any one of them on any given day. The faculty always encourages the students and always makes sure that students understand everything they teach.

Placement Experience:

From 4th sem itself students are eligible for placements. Although students get access to paid internships from their 1st year itself, just they need some effort. But as NIAT is yet new and no batch has passed out yet so we still don't have the exact placement percentage rate. But as we are getting paid internships from 1st year itself so it's very evident that placement would also be good

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
