I gave MH-CET examination in the year 2010 and scored 188/200.This is considered as very descent score. I always wanted to study Engineering from a reputed institute and COEP is one of them.It is the top college in Maharashtra. COEP provides quality education, platform for developing academic as well as non-academic skills.
Course Curriculum Overview
Being an autonomous institute, the evaluation pattern was continuous. We studied some interesting subjects here like Data Structure and Algorithms, database Management, Operating Systems, Micro Structure and controller, Networking. We were also allowed to pick one elective of other stream in each semester.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the college do provide summer internship. Many recruiters visit the campus after or during the sixth semester and after conducting aptitude test and interview rounds, students are shortlisted.
Placement Experience
COEP provides 100% placements. Many reputed companies visit the campus during 7-8th semester. Some of them are DE Shaw, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Credit Sussie, AVAYA, , Thought works, Google, yahoo, NVIDIA, City bank, Oracle, symantec, TCS, cognizant, Wipro, Amdocs and many more.
Fees and Financial Aid
I haven't received any scholarship yet but I have heard that there is one scholar ship called Leela Poonawala scholarship.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel fee was 8000/- in the year 2010, 2011, 2012. In 2013-14, it was increased and kept as 10000/- still very reasonable. The hostel also has gymnasium. The quality of mess food is good. Also the mess provides breakfast and snacks apart from lunch and dinner.
Exam Structure
The B.tech course is of 4 years and there are total 8 semesters. In each semester, there are 4 tests, called as T1, mid-sem, T2 and then end-sem T1 and T2 are of 10 mks each. Mid sem is of 30 marks while the end sem is of 50 marks, so total is 100 and the labs constitute 100 marks(50 for regularly attending labs and doing assignments and remaining 50 for practical exam).
