Course Curriculum Overview

3

I was intrested in computer coding and by CAP got into this college. The Curriculum is old designed so honestly have develop more skills on our own. The college teachers help us in it when asked. Curriculum should be updated. We are going to learn C language, python, java... Instead I think we should have C++Languagr, python, java... Teaching method is good, there's no need to change. Exams are taken quit frequent where good practice of semister exam is completed and the level of exam is also similar to final exam. Moderate level.

Placement Experience

4

Students get placement from 3rd year onwards from college. From 4th sem, student get eligible for placements. Companies like godrej infotech, newfold Digital, zycus, Acron, L&T finance, etc visited our campus. Highest package till now in this year is 32LPA. whereas avg package is 7-8LPA. students placed percentage is 85%. More students choosed to go for higher studies. My plan after getting degree is also to go for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got into college by CAP round, so I had a chance to receive a scholarship from the government. I am from the OBC girls category, so I paid 25000as fees for a whole year. One can avail scholarship only when they get into the college through the cap round. For General category fees is 16500 The college has religious MINORITY reservation for CATHOLICS, fees for them is 16500 For OBC, SBC, VJNT, SC, ST (BOYS) fees is ?96000 The college doesn't offer any private scholarships of its own, we can avail of this scholarship by applying on the MAHADBT portal where you can get scholarships like the rajarshi Shahu scholarship, obc 50%Tuition fee waiver scholarship, etc.

Campus Life

4

There are 4fests conducted in college. 1) SPARX:It is a sports fest where everyone can participate in different sports. Further, the winners are send for inter college matches. (September and january) As said earlier, library has various books related to engineering and we have availability to access it till 5p.m.however, in library we can sit and study till late night. instagram pages of our college is present. IT newsletter, no clubs, tacco, SPORTS CLUB, ETC.

Admission

I applied for good colleges like VJTI, SPIT, VESIT, TCET, KJSomaiya, DJ Sanghvi but because of my less percentile in mhcet(89)and Jee(90)mains,I got into Xaviers. I was also having st. Francis college option, but I read it's Review on quora and was not satisfied from its Review so decided to go for st. Xavier. I got the Automation and robotics branch in VESIT, but I loved IT branch so dropped the offer of that college. The admission process to the college was easy. Staff helped alot. My college accepts admission through gov. Quota i.e. Cap round and jee main percentile As per 2024, mhcet cutoff was 94%. And catholic minority can get admission easily in Xaviers.

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
