Remarks

I choose this college as it's near my house. The classes start at 8;50 as it's near my house I reach college on time. Our college has good faculty but the infrastructure is not up to mark. The college doesn't have a ground for sports and other events but one thing that fascinates me is that even then different societies in our college organize events to encourage students to participate in them. The admission process this year was really very easy, with no long ques and no more cumbersome admission process. I saw reviews from quora.com, if I have to rate my college on basis of infrastructure it will be 6/10.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum has been changed this year, G.E. and additional subjects are compulsory. Moreover, subjects like digital marketing and E-commerce are added to the curriculum. I choose Bcom(Hons) as I have an interest in accountancy but that doesn't mean that I am interested in a chartered accountant professional course. The faculty of our college is excellent in terms of experience, mentoring students and helping them in their career planning. Most of the professors in our college are having a P.H.D while others are minimum masters qualified. The teaching method of professors is quite innovative as they don't focus on bookish knowledge rather they focus on practical knowledge through projects. The exams were not tough but thorough preparation was needed to score well.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The placement cell of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College provides Internship opportunities by building a recruiter and recruitee relationship. Companies that came to campus for on-campus internship drives include Tommy Hilfiger offered 8k as a stipend, Decathlon offered 5k as a stipend for sports leader roles, and many more companies. Off-campus internship drives include companies like Dreamz group which offered 10k including incentives, Pg finder which offered business development roles with a stipend of 2k fixed and incentives based on performance, and many more.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible in 6 semesters for participating in on-campus and off-campus placement drives organized by companies. Companies that came to our college for placement drives were Wipro, Tommy Hilfiger, Yes Bank, and many more. The highest package offered to students was around 9-10lacs p.a. while the average package offered by companies is around 2.5-5lacs p.a. Percentage of students who get placements at an average is 70% as most of the students plan to go for further studies. My plan after getting the degree is to go abroad for MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for this year around 16,300 which is less than what we had to pay last year(18,100). In my opinion, the fee structure is quite affordable. There is a scholarship test that is held each year in which students can take part. There's o as such hike policy for the courses rather they depend on government policy for tuition fees.

Campus Life

3.5

Annual fest of our college "Surlok" is held in march every year. Our library is quite big and books are updated every semester. The library of khalsa college is very famous. Many students from other colleges come here to read books and prepare notes for their projects and exams. Classrooms in our college consists of amenities like chalk, duster, marker, black, white board and projector etc. Although our college doesn't have a big ground for organizing sports activities and annual events still different societies endeavors to encourage students to take part in extra curricular activities. Different societies have their social media handles run by students where information of different events is shared,

Placement Experience:

Placements cell works for the placements but gets bare minimum or very low profile courses. Students become eligible to apply in third year. I dont have the data because I didn't apply for the placements. Avg package is around 400000 that also in low profile jobs. % of students placed is also very low. My plans after the degree is to either pursue MBA from tier 1 college or continue/start a business/family business as it is best time in india to pick pace
