Remarks

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College has the best faculty available in the Delhi University as most of the professors have joined who had prior experience of teaching in Shri Ram College Of Commerce. Except for the faculty our college is famous for its diversified societies. Our college has a total of 44 societies of which Bhangra Society, Art & Culture Society, Virsa Society, and Placement Cell Sgnd are the most prominent ones. One thing that somehow triggers students of this college that is our college doesn't have a big ground for sports activities and other events to be conducted. This year the admission process was online so students didn't have to come to college otherwise when I took admission in this college the process was intricate as one had to go to different rooms to get signs from different departmental heads. I choose this college over other colleges as I read reviews about different colleges and compared them from shiksha.com and this college had the overall best reviews.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose this course as I have a commerce background and what fascinated me the most was accountancy so in my course major subject was accounts. Moreover, I had taken English & Literature as a minor as I had an interest in writing too. The faculty is the best who indulge in the modern way of teaching to students which encourages the students to participate even more in different activities, Every section has different teacher, this means no single teacher has to take the whole burden for a subject. Our college faculty is well qualified with a minimum of Master's in their subject of teaching and also a Ph.D. in their subject of teaching. The internal exams gave us an idea about how much difficulty level would the finals have. The professors gave us even difficult internals but the final exams and checking criteria were quite easy.

Internships Opportunities

4

The roles offered are usually social media intern, digital marketing intern, business development intern, and hr intern. The companies including Tommy Hilfiger, Decathlon, and Yes bank have come to our college for internship opportunities for students. The projects offered are usually according to their match of skill set and course curriculum. For example, if a student of 1st year applies for internships then he will be offered a position including social media interns, business development interns but the responsibilities will be given according to curriculum and not at the mere advantage for the company.

Placement Experience

4.5

Our college's Placement cell actively participates on the different ground for finding companies which recruit and creating from and fixing a date for an interview for the students. Internship opportunities are quite consistent and students get an opportunity to work with companies and convert their theoretical knowledge into practical knowledge. Tommy Hilfiger, Woodland, Pwc, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, and Decathlon are a few of the prominent companies which have visited for on-campus placement drives. The average package given is around 3-4 lacs p.a. and the highest package offered was 10lacs p.a. to the students The average percentage demanded by the company is 70% or above. The companies usually check for the skills and the extracurricular activities mention in the cv. My plan after getting the degree is to go abroad for further studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

This year we had to pay 16,500 for the 2nd year. The fees had been cut for this year that is from 18,100 to 16,500. The fee is quite affordable for students and the fee can be further reduced by writing an application for registration in the scholarship examination. The fees are not hiked much, I had even conversations with many seniors and they too explained that the fee structure is quite simple but no EMI option or assistance is available for paying the fee. The scholarship test is held every year for students who cannot pay their fees or require some financial assistance. Due to Covid-19, there were no on-campus internships for 2nd-year students. 3rd-year students got placements from top companies including Kotak Mahindra Bank, Decathlon, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest of our college "SURLOK", is quite famous as every year Punjabi singers are called on campus. Our college's art and culture society determines the budget for the event and the singer's honorarium, the fest is organized in the month of March. Our college has quite a huge library and every semester new edition books are updated in it. In our classrooms the basic amenities including chalk, marker, black and whiteboard, the projector is available. Although our college doesn't have a huge ground but students actively participate in different sports societies including bhangra society, football society, and Gidha society. Every society is headed by 3rd-year students and they actively recruit students from 1st year for different projects and for their replacement too. These societies have an eminent presence on different social media platforms i.e., Instagram and Facebook.

Other Applied Colleges

Guru Nanak Institute Of Management | Bcom(Hons.)

Although the curriculum is pretty similar but the faculty and the opportunities that are available in colleges under Delhi University are immense.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i am from a business and commerce background this course automatically attracts me, but these course does includes a deep knownledge on Accounts, Law and management which helps an individual to exel in business or some other fields in life. the curiculum surely prepare as it is a practical course full of real life knowledge which we study in law and management. and the course also have a broader future academic pursuits. The course curriculum and teaching methods is great only in MPA ma'am some times try to be practical and ask question but no one is prepared excpet some few kids some it gets difficult, like explanation part get's messed up i guess due to different perspective. The improvement should be with college timing the college must follow timings like Shaheed Bhagat singh college morning and evening classes which makes the college less crowded and efficient as per student needs. The frequency and timings of exam are ok.

Placement Experience:

Honestly, placements at SRCC are really strong, and that’s one of the main reasons everyone wants to study here. Most students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th or 6th semester, and usually, the internships you do in the 5th semester also help you get a final offer later.
