Remarks

IIIT Kottayam is one of the new IIIT's, which has a very beautiful campus with a gym, ground, mess and a medical centre inside the college campus. People can get admission through JEE mains, the registration and admission process was quite simple and smooth, the college authority was in touch with the students throughout the admission process. I preferred this college because of its new campus and I was getting the CSE branch. For any further doubts, you can refer to the IIIT Kottayam official website.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose the CSE branch because of its curriculum which is similar to IIIT Hydrabad's curriculum. the student to faculty ratio is 1:35. All the faculty are PhD holders and quite good at teaching. There are 2 Mid Semesters and 1 End Semester. Along with quiz and assignments.

Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Placement Experience

Basically, 4th yr students are eligible to sit in placement drives. many companies visit the campus and almost 90 percent of students are placed. Other information will be available on the official college website.

Fees and Financial Aid

You can review the fee structure on IIIT Kottayam's official website The fee is high comparatively higher than NIT's and IIT's and some other govt. colleges. IIIT Kottayam is not completely a government college is made in a PPP (public private partnership) model.

Campus Life

As we are from the 2020 batch we did not live college life as such but heard a lot about it. There are annual fest, tech fest, and even gaming fest (gamestonk), and every festival is celebrated here. Classrooms are fully air conditioned. You can expect almost all game sand sports.(Cricket,Football,Table tennis, Badminton,Volleyball, etc.etc) There are many clubs and societies managed by seniors and professors in charge of the club.

Hostel Facilities

Didn't visit college till now because of covid 19. The mess is very good, they provide north Indian as well as south Indian food. the menu s decided by mess comity, run by students. The mess is hygienic and well maintained.

Hostel Fee: INR 46200 per year

An honest college review

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester students become eligible for placements. The top recruiters in it sectors are Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Tata Elxsi, Accenture, Oracle, Amazon, Wipro, UST GLOBAL, IBM. The top recruiters in other sectors are Mu Sigma, Ernst and young,, federal Bank, h and r block. Most of the placement are in it and related sectors. The average package is 4 to 6 lpa.The highest package is 34 lpa in Amazon. In 2024, 35 percent of students got placed. I will look to get campus placement in a reasonable package or I will try to get jobs by other means.

They provide placement packages from a minmum of 4lpa to 12 lpa.. But most of the students got 4 lpa packages, it is very difficult to crack higger packages, but most of the cs students got placement andd students of other departments palcement is not good.

My College days

Remarks:

I loved my department. But some of the management decisions made bad impacts on students and they hate the college. Faculties were good. As I already said 4 to 5 professors were so good in teaching and rest of them makes the learning experience a nightmare.

The college has a very attractive campus and it is very new so the facilities are also relatively new. no placements but good to explore your interests
