Remarks

This college is the oldest medical college in Assam. The admission in based on the merit list prepared on the basis of marks scored in NEET (UG) exam. Usually this exam is held in the month of May every year and the counselling is scheduled in the month of June/July. If you want to come through State Quota, you need to check dmeassam website after the exam is over.

Course Curriculum Overview

MBBS is a reputed and professional course and that too from a govt college is a easy go through the course without spending money. The faculty here is best out of the colleges in assam. The term exams are held every six months and the final exams every one year. The exams are easy go through if you are attentive in the classes and practical.

Class Size: 176

Placement Experience

There is compulsory placement of every passed student for one year with a salary of 35k per month. After the completion of one year internship, the students go for placements done by the State Govt.

College Events

There is digital learning in the class, library is a 2 storey building with all books available for the course. Every year annual fest is held and college weeks with almost all sports and co- cirrucular activities. The students union is always active in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees of admission is approx 30k and after that there is no tuition fees except the exams fees. Scholarships are being provided by the State Govt namely, Ishan Udhoy, Minority Scholarship etc. There is compulsory one year service inside the college for which one is paid approx 30k per month and one year rural posting, @ 35k pm.

Institute of Pharmacy, Assam Median College.

I got admission in some private universities like Kaziranga university, Assam down town University etc. But I applied for this college as it is a government institute which means the fee structure was quite affordable and relevant also since I got admission by cracking the CEE entrance exam for Dpharm. I did apply for Dibrugarh University in bpharm course but as my 12th percentage was only 86%, I didn't get the seat. The admission is through the CEE entrance exam for Dpharm which consists of 150 marks. Biology/ maths- 50 Chemistry - 50 Physics - 50 The cut offs are different for different castes but a minimum of 80 is required to sure the seat.
