Course Curriculum Overview

4

The practical learning of the subject. It provides quite deeo learning into each subject. As the course provide theoretical as well as practical knowledge it becomes quite easy to apply the knowledge to further academic of occupational pursuits. Also it provides 3 months internship after the completion of the course. The improvement areas are the teaching methods of some subjects like pharmacognosy, social pharmacy, etc. Exams are conducted in a time interval of every 2-3 months. The duration of the session exams are 1and half hours while that of final exam is 3 hours for each subject.

Internships Opportunities

3

The internship courses are offered in different government hospital of Assam like AMC, LMC, etc. with an amount of 1500/- after the completion of the course. Our past students are seving different companies and industries like the Quality Pharma.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The year wise fees is paid in 2022 was Rs.6554 Which included the following:- 1. Admission fee- 104/- 2. Library fee- 1000/- 3. Transportation fee- 1000/- Student union ultural/ event fee- 150/- Institutional examination fee- 100/- I didn't apply for hostel so this was my fee for the 1st year of Dpharm in institute of pharmacy, Assam Medical College. Also those who applied for it has to pay extra 3500/- and a monthly mees fee of 1500/- I didn't get any scholarship but some of my friends belonging to SC/ST caste did got some scholarship from the mishing tribe, TGL, Deori tribe, etc. In my option the fee should be lower than the above mentioned as it lacks some facilities and is a government college.

Campus Life

3

We have our college week in oct-nov of each year where different competitions are help along with cultural and sports events. Our library has quite a range of books which include almost all the subjects of pharmacy including The Indian Pharmacopeia. Is has over 1000 books. The rooms are well constructed with fans, lights, blackboards, ppt presentation facilities etc with a stage or a podium. The different sports conducted are- Kabaddi, Cricket, football, running, shot put, discuss throw, volleyball etc. The student union constitutes of culture secretary, sports secretary, vice president, president, assistant general secretary, general secretary, social services secretary, common room secretary, ladies representative etc.

Admission

I got admission in some private universities like Kaziranga university, Assam down town University etc. But I applied for this college as it is a government institute which means the fee structure was quite affordable and relevant also since I got admission by cracking the CEE entrance exam for Dpharm. I did apply for Dibrugarh University in bpharm course but as my 12th percentage was only 86%, I didn't get the seat. The admission is through the CEE entrance exam for Dpharm which consists of 150 marks. Biology/ maths- 50 Chemistry - 50 Physics - 50 The cut offs are different for different castes but a minimum of 80 is required to sure the seat. My overall admission experience here was good.

Faculty

4

There are about 10 faculty members along with 300-350 students. The faculty to student relationship is quite commendable. We are quite comfortable with them. They are always supportive and helpful. They are friendly and are approachable. Some of my best faculty members are- Swarnali Sonowal,Dr. Ratna Jyoti Das, Rajashree Bezbaruah, Dr.Nabin Chandra Baruah, Dr. B.K Doley. There are a total of 4 exams out of which 3 are sessional exams of 40 marks and the final exam consisting of 80 marks. There are separate theory and practical exams. The exams are moderate. However the failing student proportion of our college is quite low like 5-10 students. The course curriculum is quite relevant.
