Likes
- The environment of college is damn good. Students give their every best during the final exams and our college rank is improving in the Assam State assembly well as overall in INDIA
- The location of the college is at appropriate place as the railway station is just 1.5km from the college.
- Academics as well as Sports are balanced in a quiet good way. Teachers are enthusiastic in teaching and practising the students at their every best.
Dislikes
- The food quality in the hostel is a point to focus on. It improves only when student union put pressure on the mess owner.
- During the elections of student union members there is partiality among the students on the basis of their culture and religion.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is divided by the NMC of INDIA and now it is based on CBME i.e. Competency Based Medical Education, it's quite intriguing because the syllabus of MBBS is very vast so to complete the core concepts required for our clinical practice the subjects are further divided into competencies and it made easier for the teacher as well as the students to cover it up. CBME is in good relevance to the syllabus. Since we have to appear for PG exam in our future and there whole 19 subjects questions we have to attempt therefore it is necessary to prepare ourselves earlier to all those highlighted topics.
Fees and Financial Aid
Myself Husain Raza from Uttar Pradesh currently a 3rd year MBBS student at Diphu Medical College and Hospital in Assam. It is a government college whose yearly fees is 29000 academic fees and 20000 mess fees for every six months.
Campus Life
It's interesting to share my experience in the campus. As I'm a sportsperson along with my studies excellence, I take part in most of the games like cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, basketball, and some indoor too like carrom, table tennis and all.
Admission
I got this college randomly through the All India Quota during my NEET 2022 mop up round Counselling. I applied for most of the Government Colleges in INDIA according to my fees budget. Since I belong to Uttar Pradesh and during counseling I applied for my state government colleges too but you know competition is touching the sky, unfortunately I didn't get any MBBS seat there. But I was fortunate enough to get a seat in Assam through AIQ. The admission procedure is easy we just have to reach the college with our documents and the college have the allotted students list and they match and upload to the site and your admission is done along with academic fees and mess dues for 6 months.
Faculty
I think the faculty of our college is best in Assam as they provide their best in giving conceptual knowledge to the students both in clinical as well as in non clinical classes. The exams takes place in semester wise. And the Final exam takes place at the end of the year which creates lit of pressure on the students as it takes place on state level and it also decides your overall performance throughout the year. The subjects are interesting so as the teachers. I love Physiology in my 1st year and then was our Physio HOD Respected Dr. Rajendra Kalita Sir whom I admire a lot. He helped me throughout the 1st year as a result I got distinction in physio in my final exam.
Night Life
Oh well our seniors have told us not to roam outside the campus during late night and which is obviously a good idea since we students came from different places and we are away from our parents sight. So it is quite obvious we shouldn't go outside just to console our adrenaline. And all the stuffs are available in the day whatever a student need can buy from the shop nearby. We are able to play badminton, carrom, volleyball in the night also.
