College after MAINS exam

I chose IEM on the basis of internet reviews of different websites and college reviewing experts. On these websites, it was reviewed as one of the best private institute in west bengal and some of them even considered it as no. One institute of eastern part of India so such reviews drew my attention towards this college. Well on a real basis the college it not that great that is shown in some websites it has some number of cons that make this college an average college in India. I took help of the Nirf ranking and college information provided by the government of India on their websites and also some websites like career360.com collegedunia.in quora.in and some YouTube channels that does college reviews

I myself was interested in some core techinian branches so i was searching for some low budget and good knowledge output so i decided to take electrical engineering in IEM. The teaching methodology I must say is impressive and faculty members are sufficient the provide a particular lecture. The semester exams are taken during the same period as the in other colleges in India. The level of toughness of sem exams is moderate and a student studying wisely can easily score some good cgpa

The placement record of IEM has been impressive sunce the past years and it is its greatest pros for why a student should take admission in IEM. IEM has been capable in providing placement to almost 90% of its students and hence stands number two in the region on the basis of placement records after jadavpur university. Most of the companies that visit our college are basiclay big tech gaints situated at the IT hub park of the Eastern zone of kolkata and TCS Congizent and infosys are among the major recruiters. However many students focus on gate and cat exam rahter than placement to get higher paid salary since the salary offered to an average student in IEM is around four lakhs only.

The college infrastructure is one of its main cons which make this college an average one. The college hardly has any outside campus for student to entertain. It just has a standing nine storey building in the middle of the town and having only a basketball court as its own. Due to which the annual fest and tech fest that are organised aren't that large and great. However the sports department of college somehow take care of the students desire and organises some outdoor and indoor tournaments time to time by hiring public places and grounds. College does have different social groups and clubs which are very actiy and you can be a part of it. Since the campus is not so good so these social groups,clubs and student bodies play a major part in keep on engaging students in different activities.

The fees of the college is not so high as other private colleges charge usually and it is one of the reason i went to IEM over other colleges. The scholarship scheme are mostly given to the West Bengal residentials on the basis of the reservation quota declared by the west bengal government however students from other state can also claim the scholarship provided by their state government or central government.

College doesn't have its own hostel facility. You have to find your own hostel or pg to stay and come to the college. However it has hired a private building to provide hostel facility but that is surely not enough as that building only accomodates over 100 students. You can better find a room in the residences around the college such as in mahisbathan or in naya patti and Newtown or in sector 3&4 areas of the salt lake

The only way to take admission in IEM is through your WBJEE rank or MAINS rank. No other personal interview or pre admission discussion is done for admission in college if you are alloted in any of the seats of the college in the WBJEE counseling then you can directly go for the admission
