I have got admission through state board entrance examination GUJCET. I had rank 220. I was having 3 option in my mind Nirma, DAIICT and LD. The prefferd branch was CE. In Gujrat these are the 3 best colleges that can provide you platform, opprtunities. The Placement rates in Nirma and DAIICT were great. TOP companies form IT comes for on campus hiring. Nirma has great reputation in good quality education. Pranav Mistry was one of the almuni.

The courses and electives were great to understand computer science in depth. You can choose elective form other branches like Mechanical, Electronics. This provides students from different branches to interact and collaborate. Here is the list of subjects which I liked the most : Image Processing and pattern recognition, Design of Operating System, System Programming, Advanced Java Programming, Distributed Systems, Analysis and Design of Algorithms, Computer Graphics, Advanced Microprocessors, Theory of Computation, Database Management Systems, Computer Architectures & Peripherals, Compiler Design.

The college does not provide any internship but for the last semester project I got internship from campus hiring. I had finished my last semester's project at Samsung R&D Noida with pretty good stipend. The other companies who offered internships were Wipro, Infosys.

The placements and job opprtunities were good. The big companies which came were HP, Morgan Stanley, Samsung R&D, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant there some other local companies too. But from last two years we are seeing some more big giants are coming on campus.

The Campus holds some of the big technical and culture events in the state.As University has Management campus as well as Law campus. They conduct different event through out the year. The Institute of Technology has various students clubs like Rotract, IL2, ISTE etc.

It was feasible at the time when i joined college. But in recent years there is fee hike. But it's your perspective what is feasible for you. In short I can assure that if you are good at studies Nirma can provide you best opportunities such that the expense done for graduating will be covered in 6 months of your first job.

There is one team that participates in robocon event nationally every year. College handles every expense to provide facilities for the team. Also There is collaboration with USC, Viterbi college You can apply for summer Internship there via college but expenses were on students for travel.

You will find students from different states here. Your interaction will grow during the various events held by different organisation in the college. Your social and extra curricular activities will increase. There arrange football match, cricket match, TT and chess competition. The campus life is nerdy as well as chill. There were no hostels provided for B.Tech students. But you can find feasible options near the college. The hostel is for M.Tech students only. The food provided in the canteen is good yet not expensive. There is no monthly pass for the canteen. It was a-la-carte menu.

The alumni network, I say it is there if you want any help. Various job opportunities they post on alumni network. Also college sometime arranges get to gather for alumni in various states.

The labs frequency were great it was for you to chill out form the heptic theory class. They conduct mid semester exams and a final exam for each semester. They have some 20 mins monthly tests also. But they are not so hepatic. You can pass them easily if you have attended the classes.

I am not comparing with IITs but as far as i know you will find some of the best faculty from state here for computer science. Apart from the regular subject they are ready to help the student with their knowledge. The thing is that you need to approach them without any hesitation. I think that is a general rule everywhere.
