Remarks

Writing on the good side I would say its the most friendly college for students in Nagpur and in bad side I would say its little costly compared to others.

Entrance Preview

Cet common engineering test which is conducted the state government of maharatra in the month of April consisting of 200 marks and 3 section Physics chemistry and maths with 50/50/100 marks respectively.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course consist of 8 semi with 4/5/6 sub in each sem thus making u acquainted to nearly 40 different areas or field in engineering. The course is a well balanced course but practical knowledge gaining is on the lower side last two sem you are given to prove your knowledge acquired by you through project which include a newly based concept acquired by you.

Internships Opportunities

It doesn't provide internship .but the post graduate student Pershing their higher education I.e mtech revive stifund of nearly 8-10 k per month.

Placement Experience

3

In terms of placement about 70℅ of the students are placed in the academic year, with firms mainly belonging to it sector TCS ,inautics ,capgemini and mahindra are the major reqruiters .In the academic year 2016 TCS alone recruited about 200 student from ycce in terms of placement its the second best college after RKNEC.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its the most expensive college of Maharashtra . if you belong to open category you have to pay about 120000 /- Indian rupess that very very high if you belong to obc category you have to pay nearly 50-60 k and for sc category 5-10 k or even less their is a quote of tfws scheme that is tuition fee waver scheme ,you can apply for that you can get fee concession and have to pay 12 k per year but that have a limited seat 4/5 seat per branch thus you have to score good in cet for thatched.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tfws scheme was provided by the colleges to student who scored good marks in the cet entrance exam according to it you have to only pay fee of rs 12000 per annum as your tuition fess but that is only given to 4/5 students per branch so you have to score good for that loan facility will be provided by bank not by the college.

Campus Life

4

At the time of admission they take an undertaking of the anti ragging act.so their is no ragging case .females as usual are on low side but u can say 5:2 ration of females is mainted with ctec and it branches with the maximum females and as usual mechanical with the least .there are various completion organized like robotics eleocutio. Quizes and many more during the cultural events.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility were not up to the mark as heard by some of my colleagues though mess is mediate not very good not very bad .I was a native of Nagpur so I don't know more about it you have to contact the hospitalizes if you want any idea about the hostel facilities .I can say just that it will expensive in college hostels comparitively.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes as in engineering college senior junior relationship is more imp than the teacher student relationship so does it exist here our seniors always used to guide us through the course curriculum and helped us where ever we needed guidance .they were very helpful.

Exam Structure

It consist of 8 sem . each sem divided into 3 exams I.e two mse -mid sem examination consisting of 15 marks each making it a total of 30 marks and ESE - end sem examination of 60 marks total 30+60= 90 and 10 marks were given by the teacher on assignment ,attendance or any surprise test thus making it a total of 100 marks . Exam during mse are tiresome as you have to appear for 2 paper a day thus making it difficult for student to score whereas ESE had a gap of 2/3 day between papers ,where you can enhance your score.

Admission

Gave the state wise entrance exam cet in the year 2012 got a score of 103 in the exam applied toh centralized procedure and got ycce electrical . Then list was declared and in the first round I was allocated ycce there was a 3 days window to confirm your admission before the the second round. Went to ycce filled the neccesary form add in favour on principal ycce was required to pay the fee they provided with the banking facilities there .it took nearly 2-3 hrs for the whole process but after the admission was confirmed.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty are the level of PhD .electrical and mechanical engg department have the best faculties compared to other department i was a student in the electrical department and I can give a perfect 10 score to the teacher teaching the core subject especially machine which was taught by professor HC mandhania , a store house of knowledge with great dedication to teach.

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
