Intershala, VIIT student

I had given MHTCET after 12th class. Based on my CET score, I was looking for college which satisfies my requirements such as affordable fee structure, autonomy, good hostel facilities and which provides quality education along with industry exposure. With the help of collegedunia platform, I had searched for colleges across Pune and I got information about VIIT which completed my checklist. At the actual time of admission, after completing FC, ARC process we have to present physically at the campus on the date provided by college(probably 16-20 august], where we have got our general registration (GR) number. After completing the documentation in the student section, classes are conducted immediately from the next day. VIIT has very humble and cooperating staff and faculty, which helps you all manners. But 1 issue with VIIT is, it is located outside the main city area. So a student may face travelling problems.

VIIT faculty members and staff are extremely professionals as well as student-oriented. Most of the faculty members are PhD holders and currently many members are pursuing their PhD in their respective subjects. Classes are conducted for every year of engineering in 4 divisions. and each division has the strength of a maximum of 70 students. The class representative student is elected among classmates. If some student having some problem or doubt regarding academics or others, then he can contact directly contact with faculty members at any time. management also appointed batch guardians and councillor for every 25 students for resolving their queries rather than academics. Most part of teaching is conducted through practical application examples. There is a T1 exam of 20 marks and T2 exam of 10 marks [online], we have to score at least 13 marks out of 30. and end exam is conducted for 50 marks for which passing score is 20. As VIIT is an autonomous institute, syllabus is designed for industry requirements.

College is creating an account of every student on different internship platforms like Amcat, Internshala, Alison, TCS etc. Students have to search regularly for internships as per their interest. some internships are paid and some are certified programs. The stipend amount is given to the student based on their performance and activeness. I have got an internship from collegedunia itself, with the help of Internshala.

In the academic year 2019-20, 295 students are placed with an average package of 6.5 lakh. 115 different companies are visited campus for placement activity. this year one student from the computer department has got the highest package of 24.2 lacks and 79 students from 295 have got their dream package. means about 22% of students are placed from in-campus placement drive. Avaya, tata, john deere, atlas Copco, HSBC are major recruiters. As I am a mechanical engineering student, I am trying to get a job in the government sector through competitive exams.

Fees amount is varied for different categories. If someone enrolled with open category, then he will charge around 1,40,000 Rs and for OBC category fees are around 80,000 Rs. But forgetting this category benefits students have to get approval form MAHADBT scholarship scheme. Along with this government scheme college also provides some industry scholarship programs such as Cummins. India scholarship, for getting this benefits students have to qualify their exams. college is supportive of giving you an opportunity for internships. Internship stipend is based on student performance. This year 295 students are placed with an average package of 6.18 lakh. Atlas Copco, UBS, ION group, John Deere, Tata are major recruiters.

VIIT used to organize different events. 'Gandharv' is a major cultural event, we can say it as an annual fest of VIIT which is organized in the month of March every year. Along with these different students association like MESA, CESA, EESA is organizing their techno-cultural events like ROBOCON, MECHMARIZE, SCI-TECH etc. Students can handle their library account through online mode also. Currently, about 40,000 volumes are available in VIIT library with 650 international journals. separate study rooms are allocated. Each department has its own building with separate labs. classrooms are capable of holding 80 students and has organized infrastructure according to student requirements.
